Different era. Family sitcoms like the Brady Bunch, Family Affair and the Partridge Family were the last of their kind. They never really took themselves seriously and as society changed they were abruptly cancelled and replaced with a different kind of genre That was more realistic and socially relevant like All in the Family, Maude, The Jeffersons, Good Times, One Day at a Time, Family, and even Mary Tyler Moore. The movies were true parodies of a show that was insulated from reality that they were funny as hell.
@musicaltheatergeek796 жыл бұрын
By "taking themselves seriously," I meant that THE BRADY BUNCH show was too earnest in trying portray an idealized world at the time. But the sexual revolution of the late '60s and the New Hollywood meant that audiences wanted more 'realistic' portrayals of life/family/love.

Having never seen the Brady Bunch, what the heck? RuPaul is her school's guidance counselor?

This is the same situation with me, omg.

The Brady Bunch Movies are a parody of the original series, not a continuation. So Rupaul is only in the movies.

I just watched the first 2 the other day. I kinda miss when comedy was like this. I don't want to cause waves, but comedy nowadays seems like it's trying too hard, to me at least.

I really like how Marcia dramatically swings her hair everytime she tries to make a point or boss Jan around 😂

Because I was still a young kid when this movie came out, AND I watched reruns of actual Brady Bunch episodes on TV, I always got these mixed up in my head like I could have sworn Jan really does cut Marcia's hair in the TV show but that was in the movie.

Jan Brady is the only reason I watch this movie. They should've done a movie with JUST Jan and the Same actress that played her back in the 90s. The the funniest thing about this movie IS Jan
