The truth is. Everybody has difficulties in their life at one point or another. But, it is not necessary to make a problem out of those said difficulties as we all tend to do. To blow those said difficulties out of all proportion. To mechanically/robotically make mountains our of mere molehills.

Perfect excerpt. Great choice. The problem solver mind is just like a blind foldededly narrow vision field. It needs to be put to good use when only applied once we listen /perceive first without haste. We have to bear with not knowing the solution before seeing the problem wholly. Conditioned as we are, we are driven and obsessed with problem solving and so called success. A substitute for feeling truly alive. Thats why we are addicted to it.

Very True. Never realized it before. We do everything for a desired result or reward. Do everything without any expectation as it is. A really big insight.

Thank you for the nice talk. Sigmund Freud the great Austrian psychiatrist and Philosopher also had many similar writings on the conditioning of the human brain.A little similar to J.Krishnamurthi 's thinking also. But in this turbulent world of competition and Materialistic outlook everything is a struggle for survival, so man has to face constant problems and he has to find some way to solve to save himself. Thats the reality and law of Nature and you cannot escape from it. Thats why the Great spirualist Adishankara says that this Life is an illusion, where Change is constant. His talk has thought provoking ideas.Thank you.

Despite being intrigued by what he has to say (as with Iain McGilchrist), I struggle with the fact that I have a condition of my own.. from childhood on; inattentive ADHD (ADHD-I). I do wonder how he would approach such an issue..

I think he would have approached it as anything he approaches: Look at it attentively! Put all your energy and attention to look at this distraction of your brain, without any pressure, without wanting to solve it as a problem, just look at it and see what happens. I guess something like this. ❤

Hello Ranjit, Compare it with an artists imagination that he paints on canvas. While it is true that image has come from his mind but what is also true is its on canvas too. Same way mind is partially responsibke for how brain is conditioned, however the fact that brain is conditioned is not wrong. No, not all cases require medical internevetion.

Is this to imply a mental condition, requiring medical attention ? Every action which is the result of illogical conclusions, based on selfish individual conditioning, could definitely be a problem because it is divisive, hence goes on to become the cause of conflict and wars. When we choose our actions on the basis of illogic and lack of sound reasoning, that definitely is a problem, but to blame the brain, which is the physical aspect of our psyche, appears confusing.Instead,it is more reasonable to blame the mind, the user of superior intelligence, for being so casual and reckless in using intelligence with self- centred motives. The violent aftermath of this recklessness, which is a psychological phenomenon is a problem,so why blame the brain for it ???? Hope someone from the foundation,or fellow enquirers will address my doubt.

The brain is the first to take control of the human being, then, if there is good spiritual education, the mind comes to the present. But it is the brain with the hereditary patrons and the ones impressed by the actual decadent culture who reigns today in human life, there is no mind in most of the humans. Today is not even the instincts but the pleassure the nuclear engine of the civilization.

No, no medical attention, only our own attention to our own brain, which needs one thing to function perfectly: freedom. Freedom of conditioning, freedom of culture, freedom of education, freedom of identity, freedom of concepts, freedom of the self. Only then can it go back to its true function of perceiving and unite with the mind, that created it to function to perceive, not to chatter. This is a healthy brain. I understand it, but I haven't achieved it.
