Do you intend on doing a recall on the 307 SDs? ? It seems they have extraction issues…

I want more content on this rifle. Haven't found much online. Is it an accurate set up? Real world shooting is a must! I want one but give me more!!!!

All it needs is an arca rail at the balance point, flush cups, and a recessed pic rail at the tip of the fore-end and it would be near perfect.

Exactly. This is a big fail imo and a shame to release it like that.

The 307 action would have been a great concept if the action tolerances were consistent and prefit barrels could be made for them.

The Alpine in .243 weighs the same as my Mark V Weathermark, so how in the heck is this considered an Alpine Mountain rifle???
@michaelcervantez35703 ай бұрын
And I just bought a Howa Carbon Stalker that only weighs 4 lbs.15 oz. You guys need to shave more weight out of this rifle to put it into the new class of mountain rifles.
@michaelcervantez35703 ай бұрын
And the Howa 1500 is also based on the 700 actions. And I think so is your Vangaurd line?

Your weathermark is still heavier than the 307 CT. Also "mountain" rifles aren't all about being light weight, they also need to be shootable. And ultra lightweight rifles typically aren't very shootable.
@JL-pj6kk3 ай бұрын
@@derekwhipple8419 I’ve never done “extreme” hunting. My most challenging hunts were in WV mountains. Lasted no more than a day. I’d gut a white tail, and drag it at most a mile to a mile and a half, till I could bring my truck up to it. A 10 lb rifle is perfectly fine for that (equipment with a suppressor, scope and bipods) East of the Mississippi, I know for a fact most people ride an ATV 100-200 yards into the woods. Get into a deer stand and sit. Ultra light rifles are neat in theory but are ultimately unnecessary for 95% of hunters. And the percentage it may be necessary, 4% are children and 1% are hunting doll sheep. Set up a rifle you can shoot well over an ultra light rifle. Taking a sold shot matters more than carrying 3 or 4 pounds less in weight.

I’d like to hear how this comes in $1200 cheaper than my backcountry 2.0 carbon? Destroys the resale value for guys who paid a premium for the carbon barrel and stock.
@briansupermag39187 ай бұрын
That woukd be a great topic to talk about. But your 2.0 is premium with 9 lug bolt and other goodies. But I woukd love to hear that conversation too. But I am sure we never will
@greatlakespowerstrokefx47 ай бұрын
Looks like a remington 700 style 2 lug bolt vs the ridiculously strong 9 lug or 6 lug bee action. So thats where the cost is. That isnt an easy action to machine. Where the 700 is super easy to machine and true. Their barrel making process looks way easier and cheeper to produce than a normal wrapped barrel. If anything they figured out how to bring a awesome performing rifle as cheep as they can. So its no contest to a back country 2.0. Its contest to tikka and browning and seekens and springfield production carbon hunting rifles. Among others like christensen and bergara.

@hunternichols5597 there's a ton of great r700 clones on the market. Weatherby is hot rod innovative cartridges in the mark V action. That's a Weatherby. Not copying the competitions designs. Lateral cartridges. Bringing new cartridges to the market that do exactly what the others do..... If someone wants a r700 they aren't going to Weatherby. For the money ther is better r700s. But for the trendy IG marketing.....maybe Weatherby
