This review features Weatherby's new lightweight Model 307 Alpine CT rifle. Weatherby partnered with PEAK 44 to create this ultra-light rifle that can handle any task with repeatable accuracy. A shorter BSF carbon barrel barrel, the 24 ounce PEAK 44 Bastion stock and a 3D-Hex recoil pad trim off ounces while making sure the rifle is still very comfortable to shoot, It's built on the Model 307 action, making it compatible with many aftermarket accessories. Eastmans' staffer Brandon Mason compares the performance of the rifle with and without Weatherby's Accubrake DST as well as with a Banish Backcountry suppressor built by Silencer Central.

I'm interested in this rifle, but this was an advertisement, not a review. No idea how it even shot, no groups shown.

Expected more from a "review", very interested in this setup and you provided a basic overview. Not one group shown and never took it off the bench, y'all can do better. Reviews should be more in depth, go shoot field positions, different ammo, cold bore vs. A 5rd group. How was the fit and finish? A lot to be covered here for folks that desire more than a commercial from a sponsored review.

I’ve held the model with the MDT stock superb feel and a natural pointer also the stock folds trigger was excellent and best of all you can get it in 300 weatherby

If you guys want an idea of the accuracy watch reviews of the springfield 2020 waypoint. They use the same BSF barrels, both have nice actions, and the same trigger. Very comparable rifles.

Outside of repeating the word “caliber” when the correct word is “cartridge”, Brandon once again knocked it out of the park with his review of this new rifle. Speaking of knocking it out of the park, Weatherby did just that with this new rifle in their M307 lineup. Pretty much how I would have a custom rifle built but half the cost. I just wish they would make this available in left hand 🫲 for those cross dominant shooters like myself. 😎🦌🇺🇸

@ I don’t think you could go wrong with either. Mine is shooting half inch groups with factory Hornady 143gr eld-x. I like it so far. Very light weight. I wanted this 22inch barrel because I shoot suppressed.

I just looked at the specs on their website. I was disappointed in the weight. I just bought a Howa carbon stalker that weighs 4 lbs.15 oz. I think they could shave some more weight out of that rifle to make it more competitive. I have a Mark V Weathermark that is very light 6.1 pounds. So how in the hell is this considered an Alpine Mountain rifle???

you need better reading comprehension this is competitive with the Howa carbon stalker. It's lighter than the long action as they call it that would be similar caliber size at 6 lbs 12 oz. The rifle you have that is that weight is known as the mini action so a much smaller caliber than what is offered here. You didn't even give apples to apples comparison.

Weatherby still using sling studs instead of quick-detach cups. Also, no integrated arca or pic rail.

Why did you NOT SHOW NOR DESCRIBE your HORNADY cartridge's bullet groups shot from this rifle?? What were your group s size's? And show them in your KZbin video!! Andrew

I don’t understand why Weatherby decided to make a Rem 700 clone rifle platform. It’s a completely saturated market and the Mark V action is better. I have custom rifles built in REM 700 clones and I hate that action, mostly because there’s no bolt lock.

It's not really a "clone" its a LOT BETTER than a m700 Action.

“Clone” really means foot print. The Nosler m48 action was good, but no one supports it for aftermarket parts. Not being able to change it up at will for a new action is a death sentence from a marketing standpoint.
