Wow those new features are awesome! I've been debating whether to get a Nuc or an Eagle Pro but this new version really is neat, that "Eagle Eye" is pretty cool 🦅

Looks like a nice upgrade of this really interesting computer. Looks like you have more ports than you will ever need Everything looks great, the price though is a bit high

Hi, thank you for the video. Couple of questions: do I need to buy a special mounting place to attach Eagle 4 to my telescope. I have to rings with holes in them, I have SW Esprit 100ED. Second, do I need to buy power supply separately if I want to use it from home, the cigarette plug would not be a good option to power all the equipment. Third, I know that about 7.0 Ah of power will be needed when everything is powered up, can I see how much is provided by the battery so, if necessary I can change power supply? Fourth, can I install PixInsight on the Eagle 4 and do preprocessing as it is a powerful computer there, in other words, would it be possible to install other packages on Eagle 4. Thank you.

I don't own this but I own a number of Primalucelab's products. The make beautiful and powerful stuff. It is Italian you know. But they are quite expensive to put together. Apart from the unit, the power cable and mounting screws, you will need to buy everything separately, including the compatible special tube rings, guide rings, dovetail and special cables to connect all the equipment. They call them PLUS compatible accessories. Just go to their website and check out the beautiful but expensive stuffs that they make. May be just reserve another budget USD 400 for the other items to mount and connect this unit to your scope.

What about the HDMI specs (2.0 or 2.1)? Interested in the ASI Air pro as well. Is there something that the ASI does better than this unit?
@OPTTelescopes
@OPTTelescopes 3 жыл бұрын
We believe its 2.0. And theres a few major differences between the 2. They are both great tools and both do amazing at what they are designed to do. The eagle can load any program you can download on a PC on it while the ASIair is only useable with its built in program. So if you want to use SGP, N.I.N.A , Prism, Backyard EOS or any other program like that, you will need to go with the eagle. The eagle does have more ports on it to be able to hook up more gear. And on the topic of gear. The eagle can run any kind of focuser/camera/rotator/ filter wheel etc as long as you can find the driver for it (which is pretty much everyone). The ASIair only supports ZWO gear, so you will need a ZWO camera, filter wheel, focuser, etc.

yes you can have N.I.N.A as well. Anything you can have on your PC computer, you can have on the Eagle

Very cool device. With the mini PC, power controller, and the bells and whistles, I'm sure it's well worth an $800-or-so price tag. Wait... they want... $2000 for it???
@cratervanawesome
@cratervanawesome 3 жыл бұрын
Cool product, but that price tag is just crazy. I'll stick with the ASIAir Pro which was already pricey for the hardware.

it's ridiculous! You can get an Intel Nuc for cheaper.
@marioslrzn
@marioslrzn 2 жыл бұрын
@@DawgcityClev an intel nuc you will still need to add a hub drive, power supply controller and it's not really portable. I have an asi air pro and I'm trying to find something more reliable that I can control from inside with computer and not have 100 different devices to switch too.

Lots of cool fluff. Except i5 processor needs to be updated. Not a great pairing with 16 gigs of ram....Also the hard drive should be at least 1tb. Newer cameras will fill up that drive in 2 nights of imaging
@OPTTelescopes
@OPTTelescopes 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the i5 processor is the highest processor that can work with the power supply. If they upgraded to a i7 they would need the next level power supply that would eat up so much more power which would require a different power supply and you wouldn't be able to run it using a regular cigarette adapter. having an i5 also saves your eagle from heating up due to much lower power consumption. As far as the hard drive is, you can always add your own external drive and mount it on giving you unlimited expandable space.

$2000!!!!!!! Hahaha... my $65 pi with astroberry does the same thing in a smaller more portable package
@marioslrzn
@marioslrzn 2 жыл бұрын
that's a lie, I try the pi and it's to cumbersome. I have the asi air pro and that too is very limited, so I'm looking for an easier solution for remote and portable that will transition without a hitch
