I think the devil in the song represents like loneliness and he says he's like you won't find happiness in la I think the devil is the loneliness and that Jesus is like him being around people all the time and being happy. I think is this because you know he's around all these people all the time and he just needs to be alone for a while instead of being in all the flashing lights of LA
