22 mph pitches, ball stuck in the ceiling, amazing defensive plays, awful defensive plays, extra innings, the 10,000th pitch ever thrown in the warehouse, Jimmy's grunts that eventually turned into full on yelling. What an instant Warehouse classic

Also Jake didn't hit the homerun "right after" & context matters, so don't dismiss it as if it doesn't. Jimmy said he didn't want Jake to win before the game started. Jake didn't hit the homerun until late in the bottom half of the 2nd inning. Jimmy always prefers the games to be close, so him rooting for Jake in that situation was likely largely prompted by The Story trailing 5-1 late in the game. Just prior to Jake's homerun, Jimmy let it be known he changed his rooting interest from Jake losing that game to instead be that he just didn't want Jake to win the tournament. Either way, Jimmy's rooting for Jake has it's limitations. I rewatched that Jake homerun and there was no actual proof of Jimmy "cheering" as you so claimed. Jimmy wasn't shown or heard cheering for Jake when he hit the homer.

I've been homebrewing a Warehouse Games board game. Each player is assigned three base stats (Power for plate strength, Accuracy for hurling, and Clutch for the X factor) with Speed being a slightly different stat. Each P.A.C. stat is scored from a value of -1 to +3. Here's a snippet of my stat assignments. Note that it's all fairly subjective and each player fluctuates depending on the game being played and the season. Jimmy O'brien: P3, A2, C-1 Jake Storiale: P2, A2, C2 Jack Doyle: P2, A3, C1 Zo Demalia: P2, A1, C2 Dan Rourke: P1, A-1, C3 Jimmy Knorp: P2, A2, C2 K-Mac: P3, A2, C1 Kollin Stone: P2, A3, C2 Nicky Cass: P2, A3, C1 Dalton Feely: P2, A1, C2 Joez McFly: P3, A-1, C0 Lou Dab: P2, A2, C1 Dan Kenobio: P1, A2, C3 Drew Davis: P3, A1, C0 (edit to correct the spelling of Jake's last name, sorry bro)

I love this idea... but you're saying Joez is one of the four strongest hitters in the game? Doesn't he have, like, literally two career HRs? Zo hit more in a single inning than Joez has in his life.
@edibleapeman7 ай бұрын
@@kicking222 The base stats don't totally reflect the character. Joez DOES have massive power, but he also has the Wild skill, which makes him more difficult to use effectively. Similarly, Jimmy has fairly tepid stats, but would have the Boss skill, giving him a latent edge in heads-up matchups against non-Boss JM players.
@edibleapeman7 ай бұрын
Shelfy would be P2, A3, C0; Jolly: P1, A1, C2; Plouffe: P4, A3, C0; Moylan: P0, A4, C2; BBD: P2, A0, C1; most other players fall into 1-1-1 or lower ranges, and no fault to them. They're still warriors.

First season of blitzball, or any Warehouse Games, that I've watched. This game has been full of the drama and memorable moments that we crave in our traditional sports. The pitching was masterclass in every facet. From the 22mph loopers to the gorgeous cross sequence from Jimmy. I would love to play this. In the Dominican Republic, there is a game that my cousin showed me and my brother that is similarly played to Blitzball called Pitilla. I'm probably butchering the spelling. Instead of a ball, a thick plastic cap from a large 5 gallon water jug is used as a disc to throw and the batter uses a wooden broom stick as a bat. Can be played with 3 and everyone cycles positions after each AB with Batting, Pitching, fielding. Once the cap stops rolling, a point is awarded to the batter. if the cap is caught in the air or grabbed before the cap stops rolling, it's an out for the batter.
