The Brilliant World of Mushrooms

In this video we host the passionate Cullen Taylor Clark from Aether apothecary in South Africa (details below).
We go back to the start of fungi's fossil records and discuss its evolution over the years to the current time point. We highlight the lifecycle of mushrooms and also discuss the range of phytochemicals found in fungi and mushrooms. The medical applications for fungi are truly extensive. We cover the main functional mushrooms including Reishi, Lions Mane, Cordyceps, Chaga (more mycelium than mushroom).
We discuss the industrial applications for fungi from terraforming to chocolate (theobromine) and penicillin production. Finally we explore the potential history of local IKS (indigenous knowledge systems) and its utilization of fungal and mushroom medicine.
This was a very diverse discussion related to the world of fungi and its uses.
