Just beautiful, lots of inspiration. Never ceases to amaze me the lengths nature will go to to cling onto life.

I will never get over how unusual each one looks. Bristlecone pines are like individual works of art. So gnarled and twisted. Seeing them in person is breathtaking.

Really cool trees. Wish I was able to go and see them in person. It would be awesome.

Not an easy trip. Oldest one dated is up along the crest of the White Mountains east of the Owens Valley. The road gets you up to around 9,000 ft., you have to make the rest of the trek on foot -- and at 2 miles up you're fighting for breath. You wonder how anything could survive in such harsh conditions, but that's exactly why they're so old.

These could very well be among the most fascinating living things on the planet. The idea that some were already 1000 years old when the pyramids in Egypt were being built AND ARE STILL ALIVE is mind blowing. Thank you for sharing!

So humbling to see these ancient trees clinging to life. It makes me wonder how long I'll last, how much of what life throws at me I'll be able to take.

You’ll develop scars like a old bonsai or pine that will turn into a wonderful feature, and sway like the wind that will give you movement and be forever grounded with your roots

Hidden in this video is the oldest tree on the planet. Dated at over 5000 years but it is kept a secret to which tree it is. Nonetheless this video is perfect and to finish with a new bristlepine. Perfection

imagine one of those ancient specimens as a bonsai, that would be incredible. Not that anyone should ever do that. they need to stay untouched just as they have been for thousands of years. collecting one would be incredibly arrogant on the topic bristlecone fir would also make for an interesting subject if anyone could germinate a sapling (don't anyone dare collect one or i'll find you, I'm kinda joking but kinda serious).
