I always wear a Panama hat together with my Ray-Ban Clubmaster when the sun is shining. For a little contrast with all the sand colours I bought a navy Harrington jacket. Not in my garderobe are nutcrackers 😂

Hi Roland, a navy Harrington is good, the ideal jacket for when its a little cooler. Personally I would only wear the Panama or the sunglasses, as it seems a little contrived, but there is no law against it and depending were you live in the world it can be a popular look. In some situations, such as a sunny day or outdoor activities, it's quite common and practical to wear both a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. In summertime I often wear Veldtschoenen (short: "Vellies") which are basically desert boots, only they 're shoes and not boots. They are made of suede, are quite comfortable and light-weight. And they go particularly well with chinos. And with regards to shorts: I wear mine with knee length socks which give them an air of formality. Just to give you an idea of what they look like, just search for pictures (I can't leave links here) of "Walk Shorts" which show a New Zealand gentleman wearing them.

short version of desert boots are a great choice. Shorts just above the knee are a great look and socks that are knee hight are again another great look and at the moment are still very fashionable 🙂 thanks for your continued support Adrian 🙂

Good solid suggestions, Chris, that cover all of the essential bases. As a sixty something man who spent too much time in the sun in his youth, I now prefer to cover up in sunny weather but can still manage to do so with an element of style. Spectating at a recent tennis event, I wore a crisp white Oxford button down long sleeve shirt, stone coloured long chinos with matching socks and brown slip-on loafers. A decent Panama hat and a pair of classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses added the final touch of class. Simple but effective.😊 White trousers / jeans are quite popular in summer and look good with almost any shirt and colour complemented suede shoes or deck shoes. I never thought I would wear coral coloured trousers, but these go well with a pale blue or grey shirt and respectively blue or grey suede shoes or chukka boots or deck shoes. As for casual shirts, I have started to give the plainer ones in my wardrobe a designer look by changing the colour of the buttons myself, so creating a range of alternative fun shirts to go with different outfits.😎 Our age and body image obviously impacts on the choice of summer clothes we can wear and how we wear them. For example, the trend for wearing a shirt untucked did me no favours when I had a `Party Seven’ waistline where once a washboard profile used to reside. With the excess weight now gone, thankfully, I can now carry that look off with reasonable respect. Short sleeves tend to look best on arms with a degree of muscle definition, and no older man looks particularly good in shorts if he has legs like Twizzle (sorry, showing my age) or the deformities of multiple varicose veins. Lastly, why do so many gents (and ladies too) seem to have tattoos these days?🧐

Very nice and informative video, thankyou pleased to see I am doing some things well regarding short sleeves and chinos. One question I did have on footwear is what is your opinion on sandals, not beach flip flops but brown leather buckle ups with open toe and strap top?
