Very good presentation, very informative. I have a photo of my grandfather in that very uniform, he was RFA and has a leather bandolier. The coat seems a wee bit big on you but never mind, good job

Odd that they called the Lee Enfield "short magazine", when it had double the capacity of most bolt action rifles at the time.
@MatthewsMilitaryMomentsАй бұрын
@sebastijanglozinic8630 the short bit refers to the shortened barrel, as it's predecessor had a longer barrel. The magazine refers to the fact that it's magazine fed.

Do you ever think that you could showcase some German, American, or maybe Australian uniforms? I'd love to see an original Australian officer's cap from WWI.

Probably not as most of my collection is British Militaria apart form a few odd bits of Commenwealth webbing.

where did you get the greatcoat and large Pack?
@TJRookwood3 жыл бұрын
as far as i know, brits used some kind of green paste on their equipment as protection. so in the reality it wouldnt look that bright.
@MatthewsMilitaryMoments3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct, but as it's all original webbing, I don't want to change its colour.

As part of my hobby as a Living Historian, yes I can say that I am able to do this. I have done events in Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands doing various periods, in various uniforms and can tell you that once the uniform is on, you get used to the temperature and then it's just a case of preventing dehydration through drinking.
