To me allowing kyrie to play has pretty dangerous implications. It basically shows that if you have money then general safety procedures brought on by the pandemic don’t apply to you.
@suneelj932 жыл бұрын
That’s pretty dramatic thinking. You could also say forcing him to vaccinate himself and his family is a violation of his civil liberties. Other people’s health and risk is on them. They make their own diet, exercise, medication, and exposure decisions.

So Bradley Beal because he plays in Washington isn't breaking safety procedures, but because Kyries in NY he shouldn't be allowed to play?

What are these double standards? So jonathan isaac and bradley beal aren't putting everyone in danger because they're not playing for Brooklyn?
@refkiriswansyah28302 жыл бұрын
For anybody who's asking about other player comparison (Beal) in other team, here's the answer: The impact is in group mentality. As a resident of an area, when you live in sone place long enough to assimilate yourself, you more or less acquire those group mentality, either tradition and/or identity. All of action related to those identity would reflect to you. Example: somebody who live in texas long enough and identify themselves as a texan would get mad at you if you mock them (see Sandy in pongeBob for reference). Even if you dont clearly mock them, just saying T.E.X.A.S with funny way would get them mad. Even if it do nothing to harm them. Some guy in Florida would get embarrassed (or even proud) seeing all those crazy Florida man news, etc. Any value that linked to those identity, more or less affect them. Its even worse if its a bad value (like "If you in New York, anything goes okay if you just have money"), or a group with strong identity. And an identity of "New Yorker" is one hell of a strong one. They dont want to have bad rumour spread about them, even if its true. Sure the same problem happen in other place/team, they exactly do the same thing (unvaccinated), but those places dont have such a strong exposure nor group identity pressure like New York. So the government there has more leeway to enforce the policy. New York? You can even get law & political pressure just by playing basketball.

If it was about player safety, fan safety, or the ethical considerations of promoting a player with an anti-vax position, then they wouldn't be playing him in away games. The defensible positions would have been to either sit him entirely and stick to your guns, or bring him back and do everything in your power to get him playing every game he's healthy for. So, just pay the fines even if they spike really high after the first five or six games. Forget 5k, it'd probably be worth dropping upwards of 100k extra on fines per game , at least against teams that aren't so far down in the standings that you're not worried.

and of course, money is always the loophole. The same laws that apply to middle class and below citizens can be thrown out the window if you have money. I dont agree with NY extreme messures to begin with but if you're gonna put those rules in place why do you have a underlying fine that can loophole it, esspecially for the rich.
@tonyschimmoeller2 жыл бұрын
It's not a loophole it's a penalty. It's meant to be a high enough fine to stop businesses from doing it but not high enough to bankrupt a small business if it happens. You can't have 1 penalty for small businesses and another for large businesses. With that being said, they did leave it as an open amount after so many times, and they'd probably take the businesses size/profit into consideration with the next fine/s. Most likely, they'd say we'll if 5k won't stop them, maybe 50k will. If 50k won't, then maybe 100k and so on.
@suto57042 жыл бұрын
Commenting for the algorithm. Kenny You should do a video talking about your favorite rookies this season
@BOnYTB2 жыл бұрын
The loophole thing is fascinating. I think they’d raise that fine for sure after the 5th game or whatever where it says “at least $5K.” I don’t know to what, but I think they’d raise it and make it to where it keeps going up every time basically. They know this would have so many eyeballs on it, and they can’t just let rich people break the rules just because they’re rich. At least that’s what I think they’d think/do. I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know what they could do in terms of how high the fines could get. Usually there’s an amount that’d be considered excessive and that a judge certainly may rule as such. Like if they decided after the $5K we’ll fine him $500,000…I think a judge might rule that as an excessive penalty. I really don’t know what would and what will happen. I don’t know if BKN will even try this, I don’t know what the NBA’s reaction would be, the city’s reaction would be or whoever would enforce the penalties, and I have no clue if the owner of the Nets would challenge a possibly excessive fine in court. No idea! Just saying what I think possibilities are. So I think regardless they should wait until the playoffs when they really need to do it if they plan to. Maybe by then there’ll be no mandate, who knows. For now they can coast in to a T3 seed no issue so why try it. I mean if BKN, assuming they made it to the finals, has home court every round beside one (whether it’s the finals or whatever) they’d have 15 home games if every series went 7. At least 8 regardless of home court. The first 5 fines or whatever are a joke. Obviously they don’t care about that sort of money especially in the playoffs going for a chip. I do think if they did it, they’d need to know the NBA wouldn’t try to step in first off. And I don’t think the NBA would, obv idk, but I don’t think they would. As long as all NBA rules were followed. The Nets would probably also want to consult their legal team first too and see what they thought the city or whatever would do once the fines got to the option of $5K+. You obviously would need to know the city isn’t going to (or can’t) decide if Kyrie plays their capacity can’t be full or whatever. So if BKN did end up doing this, I think they’d only do it after consulting the NBA and making sure they wouldn’t step in, and having some idea of what the repercussions would be past that first $5K fine. There’s plenty of time before the playoffs for them to do their homework on this possibility and they obviously can afford the best legal team possible. I think every NBA team has one anyway, plus Joe Tsai definitely has a lawyer obviously. So if they did this I’d expect them to be well researched on every possible outcome essentially. This is going to be a very interesting playoffs 😂

The Brooklyn Nets are extremely overrated. Last night was the first time the Nets beat a Top team in the East all season long & the only reason they beat the Bulls last night was because that was 2nd night of a back to back which are always tough. And Derrick Jones Jr. went down a few minutes into the game & was replaced by Matt Thomas. But the Brooklyn Nets most definitely aren't beating the Bulls in a 7 game playoff series when the Bulls get key defenders Alex Caruso, JaVonte Green, Derrick Jones Jr, & hopefully Patrick Williams back too. Not to mention Kyrie Irving won't be allowed to play but 2 or maybe 3 games. It's a wrap for the Nets.
@luigidabber45732 жыл бұрын
The Nets lost to the Bulls twice because those games were 2nd nights of back to back games and the Nets lost against the Trail Blazers because it was the 2nd night of a back to back game. Plus, the Nets had lost some spacing because of Joe Harris's injury and Steve Nash has put been putting on bad rotations and keeps experimenting with those rotations for the whole year. @@wyntonmohorn The Nets just have to pay a small fine, which is better than pressuring the player to inject something into his body. As a Nets fan, I do admit that we do have the talent to win the chip, but the one thing that is holding us back is Nash's coaching. He has no coaching experience and is basically doing what he did last year: using the team as "lab rats" and has been constantly experimenting with the rotations while we are halfway through the season. That is why Nets fans are PO'd and want him gone. But I still have faith in them and I still believe that they can still win a chip.

@@luigidabber4573 The Brooklyn Nets ain't paying that fine tho. If they were, they would have done so already.

Let me play a song on the smallest violin in the world. Poor nets have too many superstars to choose from

Kenny do you think a trade of kyrie irving to Dallas for kristaps porzingis is a good trade for both teams? Coz brooklyn gets a much needed and competent center and Luka gets to play more off ball coz of kyrie playing PG minutes..
@crisneros2 жыл бұрын
Nah that’s not a worthy trade imo. Kyrie brings so much value to the Nets with spacing and play making on top of the talent they already have. KP is injury prone and very off and on.
@andre2times7232 жыл бұрын
@@crisneros yea but the Nets rebounding has been their biggest flaw and you see that when they play against competent centers, KP provides that and rim protection and as much as what kyrie brings to the nets, they've gotten this far without him...and it's also good for Kyries career coz this much time on the sidelines cannot b good for his legacy

Honestly not a good trade for either team
@texdively44562 жыл бұрын
I say they should do a Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris for James Harden and this year’s First Round Pick Trade and maybe Kyrie Irving, James Johnson and Jevon Carter for Ja Morant and a Second Round Pick Trade
@tonyschimmoeller2 жыл бұрын
They can't do that

Russ needs to be the focal point of an offense/team to be successful, or at least a close 2nd option. He is not the type of player to thrive with limited touches
