4:26 From what I recall, there was also an outcome involving Maxson surviving this fight, with Danse sparing him. He would then either be exiled or per the player’s input, be forced to still serve the Brotherhood.

@@MrMadre true, him being a Paladin helps his case but him being a synth shatters any case he could attempt Not to mention Maxson is literally the decendant of the founder of the Brotherhood so challenging his power would be impossible. The entire Brotherhood would call for ours or Danses heads

@@drifterax7731 The rank of elder is usually given to Head Paladins or exceptional personnel. But in this case Danse wouldn't be given the rank. He'd kill the current elder and then just get the title? That makes no sense, the brotherhood isn't a Stone Age tribe where the strongest person is the leader.

@@kingofhearts3185 that's true for the original Brotherhood but after moving to the east coast, Elder Lyons went rogue and started a completely new chapter with its own rules (Although clearly the east coast Brotherhood rules are stupid)

There was so much that could have made this faction better, seriously. Becoming elder would have been a game changer, it would have been awesome righting the wrongs, the current Brotherhood Of Steel made, under Maxson's rule.

No it wouldn't. Making Danse or yourself elder is stupid. Why would the brotherhood have a rule where if a soldier kills the elder he becomes elder.

The challenger probably shouldn't become elder, as they have very strict lines of succession, but I could see them have this process to oust an elder who is causing problems. I could also see Lyons and McNamara (Macnamera?) denying any duel requests because of their personality and leadership styles.

It simply wouldn’t. Yeah it’s cool and by normal standards it would Make sense but Danse is a known synth no one would follow regarding if he was elder and you are harboring him on top of the fact that during the challenge you are still a knight which wouldn’t be allowed but paladins and sentinels can but at the end the reason and cause for it would cause a uproar and a civil war a good portion of brotherhood went outcast cause Lyons stopped making tech the main focus what do you think the brotherhood would do if a synth killed a heir of the Maxon bloodline to claim elder title or a knight who is trying to protect said synth. Killing Maxon wouldn’t resolve or fix anything but make them worse. If Danse wasn’t a synth then yeah there could be challenge but with Danse loyalty to The brotherhood why would he. It’s a cool idea but there is solid reasons this wouldn’t work.

A cool quest would be to have dance gather loyalists to help him confront maxson. Such as haylen, rys, and a few others, then you confront the elder and his people and challenge them

It would have been interesting if you were able to take control of the Brotherhood just like the other factions. Definitely would have made a more interesting story plot if they kept even Hal to of what they cut.

Becoming elder is so stupid. Would have made this mid game so much worse. We’re supposed to believe that the brotherhood would have just accepted you, a stranger, and a synth, killing the guy whose family they’ve worshipped for 200yrs. From a lore standpoint it makes me angry. Why doesn’t Hardin just kill McNamara in NV or the Outcasts kill Lyons in 3? Whoever came up with that deserves fired

The Prydwen is such a stupid ship to build, in a world where reasorces are scarce the bos decides that a glorified transport with no weapons and can only carry 4 vertibirds is a good idea, instead of boat that does the same thing but can be shut down when needed qnd taken out to sea when attacked
