Me too, I preferred the Italian plumber brothers from Brooklyn they had going on for awhile. They all but abandoned it until the most recent movie. I kind of wonder if Nintendo will ever lean into that more in the future seeing as it's made them a lot of money last year!
@apenasmaisumdiogo.71157 ай бұрын
I completely agree, I've always thought that having these middle-aged, physically unimpressive workers as the heroes of a fantasy was really original and interesting. I'm glad that the new movie went with their origins as New York plumbmen, I still wish Nintendo got them back to being more down-to-earth to emphasize the fantasy of the mushroom kingdom.

No joke, I'd love to see a whole animation of this style. I love the grittiness of the how Mario and Luigi look. Something in the vein of late 90's early 2000's MTV Animation like Downtown, Aeon Flux, Liquid TV, and The Maxx. Gritty, imperfect styling like this is lacking nowadays. Everything (especially North American Animation wise) feels too clean and polished. This is a breath of fresh air compared to the countless other Mario/Luigi Parodies on KZbin. Not the same 5 or 6 recycled jokes that have been done to death. Just a video of the Mario brothers acting like, you know, BROTHERS!
