Preseason is also important for employees off the ice. Broadcast crews, game presentation, new operators, even down to new cooks and service staff. That being said, I agree three preseason games would suffice.

The Bruins have been pushed as far as they will go. Simple as that. They are letting Swayman and the fanbase know. 8x8 is more than generous. Besides that offer they have mentioned Dec.1 many times. That's a warning too. People don't want a home town discount, they want a reasonable contract. The names mentioned as comparable in this video are silly. Swayman is not at that level.

He wasn’t offered $8M though, that was literally a ploy to get fans to turn on him and it’s seems to have worked for some people like you. It was revealed that his ask was $8.5M and they offered $7.8M, so I think if he was actually offered between $8-$8.25M, he would have accepted but the Bruins chose to weaponize the public instead.

Easy buddy maybe have 3 solid seasons before you start saying stuff like that. And ya the bruins ask for a hometown discount but that’s why they contend every year. It would be IDIOTIC to pay Swayman a penny over 8x8. That offer is already a reach. Swayman is NOT a UFA! You do not pay an RFA as if he is a UFA. His agent is a joke for the ask. The Bruins need to hold firm. If he doesn't sign 8x8 by the start of the season I would pull that deal off the table and make it less every day that goes by. Or deal him to Chicago... I am sure he will enjoy playing for a last place team.
