Jesus. Nhl fans don't give much time for a distinguished coach to turn things around. I've been waiting 7 years for the Yankees to fire their coach and GM.

This isn't Bruins hockey I used to watch! It's not the players, it's the system/structure that Monty has placed. The players are confused and lost. Sweeney brought in players like Zadorav and Lindholm that cannot play the system that Monty has placed. They were better last season before these acquisitions. Monty's system is more offensive rather than defensive, and this season, he is trying to revert back to the Bruins used to play. His special team coach should be replaced immediately. It's a disgrace.

I agree with you. For some reason, I’ve noticed that Mac doesn’t carry the puck into the offensive zone like he used to quite a bit. And was successful at it. Not sure why that is changed and unless Monty told him to quit doing it.

I agree. The players dont fit the system they are playing. Monty wants fast agressive defense that starts the offense and the forwards to rotate back in support. The current mix cant do it.

It's just a big mess. Sometimes you need to scrap everything and start over, and this season is looking like that.

I don't know about that his GM career in Long Island was historically one of the worst in league history

Bruins fans are not all about winning. What we ultimately want is for them to show effort, and to fight for the win. Pasta makes $130,000.00 per game, yet all he does is give the puck away. Zacha can't hit the broad side of the barn if his life depended on it. Marchand is a shell of his former self. This is so bad. When you see an entire team completely drop off like this, there's a problem. 95% of the guys on the ice are the same that were on the ice last year, and this year we even added Lindholm, yet here we are at the bottom. Frederic, Poitras, Swayman, McAvoy, Lindholm, Zacha, Coyle, Marchand, Beecher, Carlo, Geekie.. all playing substantially worse than they ever have during their time in Boston. If I was the coach, I would have told Pasta to stay home during the last road trip, and tell him until he learns how to protect the puck, he can stay the fu(k home. Yea, Monty benched him, but this has gone on for far too long. Pasta has been playing like a moron for a while now. He thinks he can deke and dangle around an entire goddamn team, and he ends up getting the puck poked off his stick all the time. The teammates will not go after him because it's not good for the players to start friction between the players. It's the coach's job. If the players are to get mad at someone, it has to be the coach. Monty looks flustered, upset and depressed. It's not working. When you switch the lines up every game, and when you put the wrong players on the ice in the wrong position, when the team has no discipline, when the players have lost their spark, the problems start from the top. This is not about getting on a bandwagon against Monty. I like Monty, I am proud of him. One of my oldest memories with my dad is being in the living room and cheering on our Maine Black Bears and jumping around when Monty scored those goals, but as far as this team.. they are fragmented, frustrated, all over the place. They are in the bottom 10% of the league in goals scored, goals allowed, power play, penalty kill, penalty minutes... Monty is NOT the right coach for this team. Cassidy was not the right coach for the team, and he went and won the Stanley Cup, while Monty came in and set historical records over the season, then somehow managed to mismanage the team by making multiple absurdly bad choices that a coach should never make. Monty will NEVER - N E V E R lead this team to a cup. It's time to cut their losses and bring in someone new.

Man, I agree with everything you wrote. (In fact, my first thought was that you've been spying on me! 😉) While there have been moments of decent play - as I type this, Zacha just scored his first goal since opening night and the Bruins went up 2-1 on Calgary - there are too many errors, too much undisciplined play, all the things you listed. Whether we like it or not, whether the organization knows or admits it or not, the B's are in rebuilding mode. Big changes are necessary.

I try not to jump on the fire coach bandwagon. That being said, The B’s PP has stunk for a year now. Their penalty killing is bad also. Those are coaching issue. If the B’s lose to the flames and Senators. Monty will be done.

Z was paid double his value, just as Coyle was. Bad personel decisions year in and out (aside from bergey's last year). Sweeney and Montgomery should both go unfortunately.

Speaking of Zadorov, this is the reason Boston typically stayed away from Russians. Get the contract then disappear.

You are exactly right and that’s what I have been saying all along. Bruce built a championship team and it’s taken a mere 2+ seasons from Monty to destroy it.

I've been watching the B's since the days of Orr, this team seems to lack any heart.....they look lost on the ice. Is it coaching? Is it the players? In my mind it's a combination......and the powers that be make very bad choices when signing people.
