The most important piece of this whole thing is that Giannis is one of the best players in the league and he's still in his prime. The Bucks have already won a Championship in the last 5 years so they've already reached their ceiling. Trading Jrue Holiday has changed their whole team dynamic and with the chronic injury problems that Middleton seems to have inherited from Micheal Redd is still haunting the Bucks wingman like a ghostly curse. If the Bucks chose to blow it up and rebuild from scratch they would actually be doing Giannis a favor...

The ones who are getting traded are Dame/Portis, probably a three team deal for Ingram, a good role player and picks. It doesn't make sense at all, but it's probably because if Dame stays, the team will be forced to trade Middleton. Lopez, PatC. These guys are on expiring deals, and if the Bucks don't extend them no other team will pay them the amount that they want. Very weird situation. 🤗

Darvin Ham was already the assistant coach in Milwaukee, when they won their chip. Further he managed to bring the Lakers to the WCF in his first year as a headcoach which was more than this team should have achieved imo.. And Doc Rivers? Look at Philly f.e.. When your stars dont show up when it matters and you have Embiid on your team, who is an injury prone playoff-choker and never made it out of the second round in his entire career...what is he supposed to do? :D Of course he may have made mistakes, but imo he was not the main reason for them being unsuccessful.

@willingexile33742 сағат бұрын
The level for instant gratification among NBA fans right now has become absurd. Trade talks drive engagement, that's for sure. At this point, the best move for the Bucks is to stay the course and if Giannis asks out, call his bluff. Unlike Anthony Davis this guy cares for his legacy and will keep on competing. And if he walks after his contract ends, shake his hand and thank him for his service and getting that one ring. It was a good partnership until then. In the meantime all they can do is wait for Middleton to reclaim some of his value and then move him. Dame has to go if they want to retool, and while it may seem unfair as he is just balling the best he could, he is the best asset to get something back. Can't stop trade speculation so treat it like it is. And even if Doc Rivers is not the coach for this team, firing him right now nets them nothing at all because which "genius coach" will solve this dumpster fire? If management wants to keep him at the end of the season he can move to the front office at the end of the season and then they can hire a new coach.
@tbd3058Сағат бұрын
I’m not sure anyone would want to take on that terrible Dame contract. Milwaukee would have to give up additional assets like picks for a team to take him
@willingexile337419 минут бұрын
@@tbd3058 Someone will take Dame but it will be at a severe discount. They're effed regardless so sitting tight and waiting for a good opening is the best situation for them. As long as Milwaukee fans keep supporting the team the players/coaching staff could drown out the noise and play the "no one believes in us" card. I'd rather go down in flames holding on to Giannis then do a bad trade. It's already paid off. Look at Phoenix, they joined the NBA the same year as the Bucks and they are still in search for a title.
