As a bucks fan who has watched every single game and post game press like a psycho, griffin was fired because he cannot organize a defense OR offense to save his life. There’s only one reason the bucks are 2nd in the league: Giannis. When your team is bottom ten or dead last in most defensive statistical categories, but keeps running the same system, there’s a deep issue. Furthermore, in post game press he always expresses his happiness with each godawful defensive performance. He is a nice guy and I sure hope he gets an opportunity elsewhere. Somewhere making mistakes is acceptable. But it’s not acceptable here.

I mean Joel Embiid is pathetic and we all know it... the dude literally folds every playoffs and whines about wanting to get MVP like a little girl... You didn't see Kevin Garnett blowing games he had no business losing... cause KG was a bad MF-er... same as Paul Pierce and Ray Allen... well, difference is that Giannis is a bad MF-er too unlike Joel Embiid's soft pamper-clad ass... Giannis unlike some other stars doesn't need Doc to tell him to go out and play hard in the playoffs and not get overconfident and blow that lead... he knows it already... same with Dame... Cause ok, the Sixers did blow those leads but at the same time they did play good basketball to get those leads with Doc... so overall I think people are exaggerating about Doc... he could be good for the Bucks... the roster is so good and so full of non-lazy players that with a coach that knows good basketball that could be enough for a ring... and Doc does know good basketball unlike that nobody they had on their bench so far...

For anyone wondering why the coaching was bad 1. The plan was to funnel everything to brook lopez in the drop which left the mid range wide open and if brook had to play help defense then he cant get the rebound. Mid range/floater specialists like trae young tre jones cam thomas exploited this like crazy 2. The bucks had no defensive rotations out of the help which left people wide open for 3 this is how we lost 4-1 to the pacers who got a ton of open looks. This led tryese georges niang and alec burks to rip apart the bucks 3. The dame and giannis pnr was heavily underused and the offense didnt involve much or any off ball movement at all 4. The players didn't really seem to have a voice - e.g the players had to collectively gather the whole team in order to movebrook lopez to the drop which shouldve been a simple request 5. The players didnt like adrian griffin at all look back to giannis subbing himself back in, bobby portis confronting adrian griffin in the locker room, damian lillard having to plea to change his rotations

Losing Jrue had a bigger impact than people are willing to admit - Holiday is an absolute dawg on perimeter defense and stays in front of his man when most guards would get beat. Having Jrue guarding the opponents best guard every night is something they obviously took for granted. It's so hard to constantly send help defense for Dame and keep that same scheme, it causes rotations and mismatches that are just terrible for your team, and just wears people out on that end of the floor. IMO they need an offensive minded coach and to change their identity into blowing people out with firepower and post defense. The days of being the best all around defensive team in the league ended when Dame showed up in town but that's not necessarily a bad thing, unless they don't embrace it. I think this was a good choice depending on who they replace him with. Doc is an interesting choice but I don't have much confidence in him yet.. he is certainly capable of handling big personalities and ego's though, and maybe he's got something in mind that the front office agrees with

I mean, usually about this time a year around 15 fanbases want their teams head coach fired. Its crazy that a front office chose to get rid of a new hire so quickly

I get that Griffin wasn't the right man for the job.....but signing Doc RIvers instead.... oh boy

Their last 2 games they beat the Pistons by single digits giving up 120-140 points a game, the game before that they were blown out by 40 by Cleveland I would argue the 2 close WINS against the Pistons were WORSE than that 40 point blowout to Cleveland.

Its the same coaches getting passed around every season. Get someone new with exciting ideas. No one wants to see Doc Rivers choke a 3-1 lead in the playoffs again.

why even start the season with him if you're gonna fire him with a 30-13 record? this is shameful for the Bucks and it MUST BE SOMETHING to do with Giannis or Dame.

Losing to the Cavs on Friday by 40 POINTS on ESPN was just unacceptable. even without Giannis. just embarrassing. They should look no further than the city of Milwaukee and hire SHAKA SMART!

Doc rivers ain’t that good of a coach. Dude has had stacked teams for years and consistently underperformed. But honestly I want him hired just so he gets off commentating at espn.

Maybe he hasn’t been the best, but having the 2nd best record in the league and getting fired in your first season is wild

It’s how you win that matters as well, and the way they are winning is not one that will win a championship

They have Giannis, Dame, Brook, and Middleton. It’s not that hard to be a top seed with that

Not really context matters. Its also important to remember that we didn't play a lot of good teams.

As a bucks fan we do NOT want doc rivers 💀
@gswarriors143910 ай бұрын
Adrian Griffin was mediocre at best, he doesnt give good rotations or create any plays, this is why most of the wins were close games, main problem is defence and spacing. But now with Doc Rivers, they have to be lucky to pass the 2nd round, im not saying it's impossible but it's hard for Doc Rivers to keep a lead, especially up 3-1. That said, Bucks basketball is gonna get interesting, most likely for the worse.
