Luka does well with shifty guards, it's when it's someone who can just blow by him is when he gets cooked but even then they pack the paint and they actually have a front court now so it's not like if the POA defender is beat they're fucked. As an OKC fan, I’m honestly happy we’re competitive again. Tough pill to swallow but playoff experience and lack of size as our weaknesses showed this series especially because we weren’t doing the other things that masked those weaknesses. I’m just excited to see what free agency/ trades they go for this and next summer. They have a lot of different options they can chose from. My problem with Kidd’s coaching in this series is his substitutions and his use of timeouts, both of which contributed to blown leads in this game. There was a point where the mavs went on a big run that put us back within like 2 points after being down 16 at half, and he takes lively out and puts gafford back in where lively was somewhere +10 and gaff was -20. Then the game would slip back out of hand. Then when okc went on a 24-6 run in 4 minutes, kidd sat there with his hands in his pockets, no timeout to give people a break and try to reset momentum, just sat there and watched as it got worse and worse.

The difference between this team and teams past is that Luka finally has his two lob threats/true centers in lively and Gafford. You can tell the lob game with his bigs and even airplane mode has opened up the game for everyone and the two bigs cover up a lot of what Luka lacks defensively with rim deterrence.

The crazy thing about the Oklahoma City Thunder is that they can go any direction that they want. With a billion first round picks at their disposal and tradable young players they could honestly get almost anyone in the league. They could pull off a trade and get Donovan Mitchell or someone like Brandon Ingram or Lauri. It's all about them just getting the right player, but they can afford anybody and that is scary.

I think they should try get Claxton in free agency, start Chet at the 4 and try shop Giddey and picks for Lauri or d mitch. Mitchell, Shai, JDub, Chet, Claxton would be a nasty starting 5. Along with dort and this years pick leading the bench

I'm so glad the Mavericks have gone this far in the playoffs considering that everyone thought the Kyrie trade was a mistake and that his extension ruined the team last year. And I'm glad Luka will have at least a little bit of time to recover before game 1 against either the Nuggets or Timberwolves.

Tell you what man, I wanted the Mavs to go through but there was a moment in this game where they were down 8 or 10 I think both teams were trading baskets and I found myself thinking, what a fun series this is! And I wouldn’t even be mad if it went the other way because both teams were deserving. OKC, unlike the Sons, were a respectful team. Feel like the experience of Kyrie and Luka tipped it their way.
