Got an e46 vert myself. That is in bits on the drive, love them. One thing I will say...put the reg back where it should be on the front,it makes the car look older where it is.

I would recommend engine oil flush by liqui moly or tec2000 and another oil change probably after 1000 miles. Should be much clearer than

Should have done the valve cover gasket when you did the spark plugs, that's why there was oil on the spark plug 👌

£1400 on a rusty broken BMW, personally I think you paid double what you should’ve. Should’ve also unplugged fuel fuse with car running to drain the lines of fuel pre filter change. Self bleeds after so it saves a giant mess!

Throwing good money after bad! Its the least desirable body type, only the 325 model, not by any means low mileage and an absolute nail of an example. Only thing it has going for it is that its a manual. Worth £800 on a sunny day, let alone £1400 in Winter. Makes for good content though I guess.

@@maddoggmarshall my precise thoughts, I’ve still enjoyed the content. But coming from this market it’s easy to see when you’ve overpaid especially with the work involved in this. Be so amazing to see a profit turned. The old wheels are low key worth bare dollar is the one thing we’ve not mentioned. Poor condition but lips and a refurb they’ll be £400+ last time I looked.

Depends on the car. Newer cars often used detuned versions of the same engine across their range (e.g. 116d/118d BMWs). So often for a couple of hundred pounds you can gain a lot of power getting a remap if your car is factory detuned. Older NA cars don't generally tend to have the same kind of gains to be made though just on software.

You didnt show it in the video but the rear brake discs were so difficult because you didnt de adjust the handbrake shoes as the handbrake shoes are internal to the brake disc👍🏻

This is correct they have a snail cam adjuster i know older bmw’s have it haven’t really worked on newer bmw’s yet

Have a 325Ci aswell, did a full widebody and respray (and a full list of other bits) as you can see on my lil pic lol, plan on doing a full m3 conversion but have a b30 engine in the meantime that I'm thinking of turboing. It's nice to see the small work your taking care of with this car (so far) because before you know it you're shoulders deep in your pockets haha. Definitely have to do an exhaust even if its just a back box delete and I'd recommend a "tuned" ecu from DG Maps, cannot beat the sound of an old bmw straight six! Good job and good luck with the build man

I was told not to use copper grease on discs or hubs as even the smallest fragments of metal in the grease can cause vibrations. 🤷🏻‍♂️
