Bison and Buffalo are interchangeable. Among Native people, however, we typically call them Buffalo.

@@tankafundBuffalo are an entirely different set of species. These are bison. Buffalo is a traditional error in nomenclature commonly used for bison in North America. I always thought that they were actually named buffalo until I learned the error in a high school class on North American history.

It's impossible to caretake Buffalo without fencing. However these ranchers are on hundreds of acres of land and Buffalo are never truly penned in like cattle.
