Oh boy, can't wait to see what tropes from a certain series that was once considered progressive in the late 90s/early 2000s that isn't actually upon rewatching.

I'm curious as to whether Buffy actually was progressive for the time. I was born too late to experience it on air, so I don't know a lot about what the general cultural vibe was

Angel is better. Genuinly way mor mature, even with a weird season 4. But good angel is genuinly mature and deals how complex and difficult adulting is, and the evil law firm , ha, great. And i like the poitive nihilism it goes with. And cordy is a good female strong character, that is so while, like she is allowed to be hrself, not a great fighter, and that. just using her mouth and wits. And wes, oh wes. Plus i think it aged far better cinematic and morally grey character wise, and way more mature, grounded and that. And th good angel tuff isnt having whdon involved, explaining the lack of whedonism, i guess.

To throw my creepy afab kid hat into the ring: when I was younger I was really fixated on cannibalism. I don’t even know where I got this from and I didn’t know the word for it yet, but I took every opportunity I could to drink my own blood or see how hard I could bite myself, I made little claymation movies of blobby play dough people eating each other, I had dreams where I could painlessly eat my own legs, etc. Anyways I was goth and trans and gay in middle school and am now a trans gay art student. I feel like that’s a logical character progression.

I'm just realizing how much of a normal child I was. Okay, not normal, but like--I went in the other direction. I was a little pansy. I saw Spirited Away and Scooby Doo Zombie Island way too young, and I vowed to never get scared again. I always got movies mixed up though. I got Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service mixed up, so we'd rent *a* ghibli movie and then halfway through I'd run away crying. The little soap opera I had with all my littlest pet shop toys was probably quite tame, no real stakes, and when getting into anime, I watched all the stuff like Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh because I deeeeefinitely couldn't handle Death Note and stuff like Fruits Basket and Tokyo Mew Mew hurt me too much. (I love magical girls but I didn't watch the Mew Mew Reboot because if I saw--what's his butt. Tart? Quiche?--The guy who kissed Mew Ichigo without her consent, I'd be seven years old and full of white hot rage again.)

Stalin died in 1953, and I know that makes me a "wrong one" or whatever but how do you get 1970s? That's not even close to say knowing Hitler's dog, since transitions of power are really freaking big events. As for a fact a wrong one knows I gotta go with Gus on the German military stuff. I am more willing to trust that a person knows weird things about the Nazis and esoteric fascism because they are interested in the subject of fascism as a leftist, than I am to buy that someone can recite technical specs for a bunch of panzers. It is the distance from the horrible shit that makes the military knowledge creepier if that makes sense.

I don't have a creepy child story in mind but my sister and I, after it was really rainy and windy, we would go collect tumbleweeds and made "snowmen" out of them (because it doesn't snow here). And I collected mini toads, and one of them I was very attached to and named Chikorita A "fact only wrong ones know" is definitely being a bit too into true crime, especially RECENT true crime, where the victims would still be alive otherwise. Like in an exploitative way, if you get what I mean. Especially if their knowledge tends to lead them to the idea that "oh the police should be allowed to violate a suspect's rights so that things like that don't happen again", which is the wrong conclusion to come to. I'm not saying that everyone who listens to true crime stuff is wrong, but I do think there's a VERY wrong way to be into it.
@taylorr2346
@taylorr2346 Жыл бұрын
Or if they are just openly accusing people and like emailing family members about their theories. I enjoy true crime, but the way some people engage with it is horrifying. I get being interested, I get wanting to solve the "puzzle" but that's no excuse for how some of these people act. Like I've heard stories about how years later the daughter of a victim still gets strangers messaging her that her father(or maybe stepfather? Could have been the mom's boyfriend) was the one who did it and how much it sucked having to deal with that 100% true crime can be interesting but there are VERY wrong ways some people engage with it

Cheese is a food derived from milk that is produced in a wide range of flavors, textures, and forms by coagulation of the milk protein casein. It comprises proteins and fat from milk, usually the milk of cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep. During production, the milk is usually acidified, and adding the enzyme rennet causes coagulation. The solids are separated and pressed into final form.[1] Some cheeses have molds on the rind or throughout. Most cheeses melt at cooking temperature. Hundreds of types of cheese from various countries are produced. Their styles, textures and flavors depend on the origin of the milk (including the animal's diet), whether they have been pasteurized, the butterfat content, the bacteria and mold, the processing, and aging. Herbs, spices, or wood smoke may be used as flavoring agents. The yellow to red color of many cheeses, such as Red Leicester, is produced by adding annatto. Other ingredients may be added to some cheeses, such as black pepper, garlic, chives or cranberries. For a few cheeses, the milk is curdled by adding acids such as vinegar or lemon juice. Most cheeses are acidified to a lesser degree by bacteria, which turn milk sugars into lactic acid, then the addition of rennet completes the curdling. Vegetarian alternatives to rennet are available; most are produced by fermentation of the fungus Mucor miehei, but others have been extracted from various species of the Cynara thistle family. Cheesemakers near a dairy region may benefit from fresher, lower-priced milk, and lower shipping costs. Cheese is valued for its portability, long life, and high content of fat, protein, calcium, and phosphorus. Cheese is more compact and has a longer shelf life than milk, although how long a cheese will keep depends on the type of cheese; labels on packets of cheese often claim that a cheese should be consumed within three to five days of opening. Generally speaking, hard cheeses, such as parmesan last longer than soft cheeses, such as Brie or goat's milk cheese. The long storage life of some cheeses, especially when encased in a protective rind, allows selling when markets are favorable. There is some debate as to the best way to store cheese, but some experts[who?] say that wrapping it in cheese paper provides optimal results. Cheese paper is coated in a porous plastic on the inside, and the outside has a layer of wax. This specific combination of plastic on the inside and wax on the outside protects the cheese by allowing condensation on the cheese to be wicked away while preventing moisture from within the cheese escaping. A specialist seller of cheese is sometimes known as a cheesemonger. Becoming an expert in this field requires some formal education and years of tasting and hands-on experience, much like becoming an expert in wine or cuisine. The cheesemonger is responsible for all aspects of the cheese inventory: selecting the cheese menu, purchasing, receiving, storage, and ripening.
