If multiple batteries from their cars fail that would affect the future of the company forever, plus if one manufacturer did a thing now (porsche) thet doesn't mean that another manufacturer should've copied it. And i don't know about using other companies motors but they probably used to one they used for a reason, company name, thrust, there is not only pw/weight ratio that goes into play.
