Could be that he's not hunting humans for fun. With larger prey, crocs have a habit of stashing them underwater to decompose a bit, before eating them later. If his regular diet is hippos, the underwater cave/knot of roots that he uses to hold the bodies would be way too big for a human corpse, and they'd get worked loose and taken by the current.

Pretty much anything that's bigger than what can be eaten whole they will let rot for a bit to make it easier to rip chunks off and devour. Crocs do not chew their food and basically eat like a duck. The death spin can disjoint a leg, but more often then not they won't waste the energy and just let time do the work for them. The fact that native Egyptians don't know this is scary. The fact that scientists don't know this is REALLY scary.

The largest crocodile I saw was at Australia Zoo, and this thing was like massive. It just sits at the bottom of the pool, only until one of the keepers decided to lure it out of the water to give it a massive chunk of meat, a full frame size of a whole chicken. He was mostly there to tell people about the crocodile, where he came from, and all sorts of interesting details. Towards the end of the show as they were wrapping it up and leaving, it was sitting by the edge of the pool, and had attempted to lunge at them as they were going for the gate to the enclosure.

6:22 actually it's very believable. Rockets have an arming delay, so if they were too close it would not explode. If they miss and hit the water the rocket would likely keep going, possibly arming itself. If it did arm itself, rockets are not bombs; the blast is directed forward, not in all directions. Finally, if it did travel far enough, arm itself, and detonate, water and mud are great at absorbing shock waves.

The thing about all crocodiles in general is that they are literally Wolverine from X-Men. They have borderline zero response to pain and sometimes fail to notice if one of their limbs gets chopped off. And that combined with the fact that they can heal so incredibly quickly means that they can shrug off wounds which would be guaranteed fatal to any other animal, and fully recover from them in a month.

one thing you can try if you want to stay awake, make a pot of coffee then dump it into a sauce pan then put that sauce pan on top of another one filled with water and bring the bottom one to just shy of boiling then let it sit there for a while until the coffee is reduced to a quarter of its original volume. Anyone heard the story of the tourist who was camping in Australia by a river bank and a croc came up to get him? Naturally he ran and the croc pursued him 2.4km from the bank and the guy climbed a tree. This is when the croc sat in wait for the guy. The dude was found dead in the tree, starved to death and investigators retraced his steps to figure out what happened. That's a totally true Australian story. Although the distance might have been 2.8km, as the story varies, it's a solid example of an Australian croc story. You decide!
