The Burial of MOH SSG. Jon R. Cavaiani on 5 November 2014

On Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 12:45 PM at the Post Chapel ,Arlington National Cemetery burial with full military honors of Jon Robert Cavaiani (August 2, 1943 - July 29, 2014) was a U.S. Army soldier a POW and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration - the Medal of Honor - for his actions in the Vietnam War. He died on July 29, 2014 at the age of 70 in Stanford, California. Jon had myelodysplastic syndrome.

I met Jon Cavaiai at the 2000 Philadelphia Pennsylvania Marine Corps Birthday party at the Philadelphia Convention Center (The Old Train Shed). I was in the Marines 1967-70, 1st MAW Vietnam.
