Did you know that the last monarch from these shores to be killed in battle was actually King James iv of Scotland? His head was chopped off and buried in Gresham Street!
Also nearby, in Wood Street is a tree which features in a famous poem by William Wordsworth.

The police station in Wood Street has a small museum detailing the history of the City of London police force (which is quite distinct from the Met). Unfortunately it's rarely open and you need to check their website to call up and book a guided tour. The museum is just a single room but it has a lot of interesting exhibits and my guide (a retired copper) was excellent.

Great! Yes, I found it quite remarkable. I didn't know much about him myself. People get him confused with James VI

I think there should be a plaque marking where King James IV's head was buried. King Charles III is directly descended from King James IV. The Royal family are very, very proud of their forever lasting Scottish roots. A new memorial plaque should be erected in The remains of St Michael's Church in Wood Street in London.

I'm confused by the passage you read about King James IV's head - the Battle of Flodden Field was 1513, but then it references a man who was a glazier to Queen Elizabeth I, who wasn't born until 1533 and didn't become queen until 1558. I'm guessing the glazier obtained the head later? Or else was rather old when he was serving Elizabeth?
