Thank you so much for sharing your work with us - it's absolutely wonderful! It was reinforced for me watching this - of all the awards, People's Choice SHOULD mean the most. These are entertainers and this shows they are top in their field. Instead, the critics and elite want to minimize this. It's a shame as the critics/elite are truly missing their audience. ~ Chuck

I remember all Burt´s speeches when he won awards at the "People Choice Awards". In 1980 he wasn´t there but they got him via satelitte. Orson Welles said: I really like the 3 candidates but I have to admit that it is a personal pleasure to awarded this to my personal chum and then he said Burt Reynolds. Burt Reynolds did a hilarious speech by saying: All the people who voted for me will spend two weeks at Alan Alda's house. Before that he said that it is an honor to get the award by the great Orson Welles and that Orson is not only a giant in the industry but he is really literally a giant😅 and that he wanted to point out that Orson has 40 other suits that he has on in his closet at home. In 1982 agaín Burt was not in the audience when Lucille Ball awarded him with a People´s Choice Award. Again they brought in Burt via satelitte. Burt said he will pick up the award at Lucy´s house and then he added: you know me Lucy at the usual time😂. I saw all the clips at the People´s Choice Awards homepage but their archive hasn´t been there for over 10 years but I still remember Burt´s speeches. In 1984 Burt was in the audience when his "Shamus" co-star Dyan Cannon gave him an award. Burt said: Let me apologize for my voice(he was sick but appeared anyway), it changed this week, so Tom Selleck should have some hope. Then he said about the other nominees. He said: Clint Eastwood loves his fans but he had more important things to do tonight. About Tom Selleck he said: I like Tom Selleck because he has my old face😁. His mother and I was wondering when he left the house.

Thanks for posting it, Gator. Really enjoyed it😉. You don´t have other "People´s Choice Awards" clips from that period (1979, 1980, 1982,1984) right when Burt also got awards? By the way, Burt got a second award at that 1983 ceremony. No other than Jimmy Stewart awarded him with another trophy. Burt´s speech was even funnier.

He and Richard Pryor were considered for 48 Hours but there astronomical fees at the time and both of their reputations for being difficult killed it...Burts role went to Nick Nolte because Nolte hadn't had a hit in a while and came cheap compared to Reynolds and Pryors went to a up and comer named Eddie Murphy in his first role. James Remar one of the bad guys from 48 Hours did work with Burt in Rent A Cop as Dancer.
