Buryaad ulaskhaa amar mende! Greetings from the Buryaad republic. That's a pretty accurate depiction of the rural way of life in 2000s. Little did change since that time. Although, unfortunately I have to admit that the rural population is still ageing and predominantly unemployed. As you might have noticed, there's a huge problem with our mother tongue being marginalized and replaced by Russian. I'm a young Buryaad man who learnt Buryaad language myself at the age of 17-20 and it's quite a rare case. Most of my peers speak only Russian because the education system and the whole society infrastructure built by the Soviets, undermined minority languages like Buryaad, Sakha, Kalmyk, etc. There's a certain trend for national awakening among the young people like me but certainly that's not enough yet. If you're interested in Buryaad boo murgel (so called shamanism), read a book Bo and Bon by D. Ermakov - there are some deep insights on ancient roots of our traditional beliefs that were common to Mongols, Tibetans, Indo-European pastoralists and other nomadic cultures of Eurasia

Hi! I'm brazilian. Thanks for your input. I will look for that book! ruZZia is a colonialist imperial dictatorial regime. ruZZification is not a new thing, it has been like this for centuries. They try to erase any trace of identity and culture from the peoples in the territories they occupy. Take care of yourself becuase Putrid is looking for meat for his genocidal war against Ukraine.

I felt disheartened that this video ended so soon. It is interesting to know how much their shaman tradition is familiar to our Hindu tradition. Like chanting mantras, offerings, altars, food and liquor gifts etc. I'm feeling proud of them that they have not left their age old tradition. So many are proud to continue their generations of traditions and customs carrying forward what was taught.

Very very close. On Lake Baikal there is a shamanic holy place on the island of Olkhon. Every year on a certain day all the shamans of Siberia come here. A few years ago a delegation from America even came here

The indigenous peoples of Siberia have never forgotten the traditions of shamanism. Now they increasingly want to live in harmony with spirits and nature. Because people are becoming disillusioned with Christianity and are increasingly turning to their native religion of shamanism. Among the indigenous peoples of Siberia, shamanism is now gaining a second wind.

For some reason (I don't know), when someone makes films about the Buryats, they never talk: - About our developed science, medicine and engineering. - About the fact that we were the first in Russia to open theaters, clinics, pharmacies and printing presses. - About our 10 types of writing and developed encyclopedics. - About our political struggle against Russian Empire, USSR and Russia (now) - About our contribution to the victory of the allies in World War II. - About the fact that we are the first democracy in Asia. They just only interested in shamanism, tribalism and life in remote villages of the Irkutsk region of Russia? Guys. There are Buryat diasporas in the USA and Europe, among which there are many scientists, historians and political emigrants. Contact them and they will make you a normal excursion plan.

I am a Buryat. Mongols are not an ethnic group, its a language family (like the Turks, Arabs, Slavs, Germans..) The Mongols of Mongolia are "Khalkha" by ethnically, the Mongols of Buryatia are "Buryats". We are from the same language family but different in ethnicity. The common between us is the same as between Russians and Ukrainians or Deutsch and Austrians. Similar peoples with some difference in language, culture, genetics.

In Buryatia, double names are widespread: Russian for official matters and Buryat for everyday life. Due to widespread racism, nationalism and chauvinism in Russia, it is easier for Buryats to use Russian names. It's easier to find a job, easier to register a business, easier to avoid becoming victims of the police and nationalist gangs.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
