Agreed. The first two years or so the show about nothing bit wasn't working, so the producers decided to just make a sitcom that was way way better than the rest. Before streaming and stuff, the 90s was big time cash with must see TV and commercials. The show went to the top and was one of the few shows to stop producing at number 1.

I think it's the Antonio character... having an angry, sullen character be the main plot point of the episode didn't work and there was little room for comic possibilities. The Ray and Rava episode was another flop imo, not a single funny moment.
