@Hod a town north of me averages about 4 meters a year, south of me another town averages about 3 metres, it's well above our average of about 1800 mm but it was an insanely wet year , one flood in the early part covered my 2 ha block with about one meter of water , we ended up with around 300 mm of water through our house, Australia isn't all desert and camels
