Thanks for the trip on Kiwi Rail. Left hand operation was specified in the Opetating Rules Time Table where I worked in Arizona and New Mexico on the Albuquerque Division. So the "artists" are at work on NZ, too.

Wow! I thought I knew all those streets through to Heathcote like the back of my hand, Turns out they look completely different from the tracks. Again great editing to mash together all that different rolling stock. Thank you!

Christchurch looks very different from the railway than it does from the roads. Moorhouse’s legacy: an incredible corridor through the city.

Quite an 'arty ' video from you, with all the other trains and shunt locos being added on the way. Didn't realise it was so far to the Port. Really great video. Thankyou👍👍

Why is there a wee concrete platform just before the tunnel @25.55 , and a very short siding to nothing @26:19 ? What are the curved panels on the ceiling of the rail tunnel @30:40 and why are there none of those "dive spaces" to the side like the road tunnel has?

It's so disconnected from the rest of the the area. Like it's own wee desolate strip (that has probably had very little in the way of changes compared to the land around it)

Detroit Place is probably the closest you can publicly get to it. Last I heard it was still being used occasionally to release the switchlocks into the wheel lathe yard, but otherwise the territory it used to control has been moved to a desk in train control in Wellington.

Very much enjoyed the ride there, cheers for that, i have a question if anyone can help me, what happened to to the Taieri George railway, does it still run i heard it had been mothballed, it would be a shame to loose this tourist route, thanks from northern England, visited the country in 2016, wonderfull🙂🎥

They stopped running trains when covid hit and haven’t done anything since. The line is all still there and hopefully it can start up again with some money spent on tracks and desire from Dunedin city to get it running again

Great Video Geoff, I found it very interesting, it's the most I have seen of CHCH since the earthquakes! I'm Canty born and bred, left for a haircut and a new job in early 1995 I was at the beach in Coromandel during the worse earthquake, I found the changes in the city very interesting, thanks for sharing
