I have two theory’s 1: the ability of purifying the Akumas and Amocks was built in to the ladybug miraculous as almost a safety precaution in case the miraculous got into the wrong hands and 2: the ladybug miraculous has adapted to need to be able to purify them. Just like how when the power up but this is not temporary it’s permanent.

So since Halkmoth wanted to wake his wife from her coma he got the power to Akumatize people which would come in handy to getting the miraculous. This is a theory and I didnt make up facts they where all in episodes. The pharaoh had the butterfly miraculous and treated nooroo good and used it to bring peace. When his wife died he wanted the old ladybug to give her miraculous.(he could unify tikki and plagg and make a wish) She probably said no so he turned evil and after that moment the butterfly miraculous was seen as evil. The ladybug made herself a new super power to turn akumas good. And as it is seen the akumas are good before hawk moth makes it bad so 5000 years ago they where not used for the wrong reasons they probably gave people super powers so that they could take away miraculouses from villians since they where scattered around the world after the chinese mage made them. ( the pharaoh probably gave himself the ability to make akumas bad)

This probably means that the butterfly/moth miraculous, like the peacock, is damage prior, maybe even prior to feast. Instead of damaging their physical performance, it damages their mental performance. Like their powers: peacock creates something new so everything you use it, the more you lose. Butterfly controls an already animate object and can control what they do. Your brain stores your sanity and mentality. The more you akumatize, the crazier,delusional, and distant you get.

Thats a great theory but in an episode (I don’t remember which) we could see a lady in a painting with butterflies surrounding her and its said she was a butterfly miraculous holder. I don’t think she would be there in a painting with white butterflies surrounding her if she was evil. And as master fu says the peacock miraculous only created an evil amok because of the negative emotions therefore if the owner had positive emotions and intentions then the miraculous would’ve created something helpful. Maybe the purification power was used for other things in the past, if it was specifically aimed at one thing then it wouldnt be able to purify both, so maybe it’s meant to purify any evil and turn it good.. the butterfly after the purification turns back to its original color again as if the evil has just been stripped away from it and same as the feather. Also the wording when hawk moth says dark wings rise implying the miraculous being used for dark purposes but back during the Egyptian times, the pharaoh a butterfly owner used the miraculous to bring light not darkness. Also in the New York special the eagle miraculous has two different saying to activate it one that she used to restore peace and one that was used for evil purposes. Or since the costumes changed throughout the centuries and phones weren’t there back then the powers and items could change slightly to adapt to the new modern century as time goes by. That is such a good point! I have a little theory- I dont know how or when exactly the miraculouses were created, but what if she had always had that power. The peacock and the butterfly miraculous seem like some of the most powerful miraculouses, not including the cats and the ladybugs. What if who created them used them for evil or something. Or what if the person who created them knew they were the most vulnerable to get into the wrong hands and gave the yoyo the purifying power just in case. We also dont exactly know too much about the history of the miraculouses other than what they told us in feast and pharoah. I love the theory! It's kinda flawed though because when we're introduced to Nooroo, he said that the powers are meant to be used for the greater good and in 'Feast' we see the former butterfly miraculous holder and although we don't see the motives, this holder seemed to use the miraculous for good reasons. As for the peacock miraculous, the "sentimonsters" would originally be used to create companions that can help in battle, however, it got into the wrong hands and it's being used for the wrong reasons.

I don't think the Butterfly and Peacock miracoulous were always used for evil. I think that Ladybug's powers adjustable, just like we see in season 4 how she can pull out miracoulous out of the yo-yo once she became guardian. Also the butterfly miracoulous doesn't allow you to control people's feelings, it gives you the power to give other powers in order to make an army or a team. It was explained in a couple of episodes how it works.

Nice little analysis here regarding the butterfly and peacock Miraculous. It certainly does call into question just how often those two are used for evil or self serving purposes. Going by the Pharaoh episode, it would seem ancient Egypt was one such time too. I would hazard a guess whenever the first time those two Miraculous were used for evil, the Guardians were able to expand the Ladybug powers to deal with the situation since we've had hints in the show that the Miraculous can do more than just the basic stuff we've seen in the series. The human wielders just need more experience before they can do more. Course that doesn't explain why they would only do that with the Ladybug and not the others like the Cat Miraculous, so who knows.

I think maybe Ladybug's purification part of her yoyo is one of the upgrades that the previous Ladybug before her conjured. Like in Mr. Pigeon 72, Ladybug discovered the ability to create & created magical charms. Maybe similar to that, one of the previous Ladybug miraculous holder did something similar creating the purification system/part of the yoyo cause it was needed at her time like Ladybug needed the magical charms for her situation against Hawkmoth. And maybe the yoyo just ended up having a purification system after the previous Ladybug's discovery of it. Only a theory but there you go.

Maybe it has something to do with the miraculous powers evolving per generation. Ladybug's miraculous power is unquestionable to us as it is the most powerful and strongest miraculouses in the mother box. Maybe, Ladybug is adapted to many powers but she does not know it.... For example, We see in Mr. pigeon 72 that with the help of Rena, Ladybug was able to create her own magical charms and give it to people. Simmilarly, The moth and butterfly miraculous maybe should have some more powers too.... For example, With the magical charm Shadow Moth was able to make a stronger dark creature called a 'megakuma' that can break the miracle charm and akumatize people. My theory :- Probably, All other miraculouses also have some advanced powers unknown to us. (It's only a theory)

Mk, so, here's what I think: When the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous were used for good back then, I would imagine there would be a mistake or mishap with the akumas/amoks. So, who ever had the Ladybug Miraculous would have to help capture the akuma or amok. The "mishap" that I think will usually happen is that, who ever got akumatized (in the good way of course) usually went crazy or felt like they were the king/queen of the whole world. Another possibility is that the older owners of the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculous wouldn't have such convincing words to use because the Miraculous were intended for good, not evil. At least, in the past they were used for good.

This is a great theory! However I would have to say that all the miraculous are meant to be used for good mostly because of the events of the NewYork special Warning, New York special spoilers ahead In the new York special when hawk moths takes the missing Eagle miraculous and gives it to the electric evil dude (sorry I didn’t remember any of the new names 😅) he tells him to say wings of prey. Once the miraculous is recovered and given to the other girl who was originally the owl super hero, she says wings of liberty which makes me think that what you say to transform determines how your powers will be used. We know that hawk moth says dark wings rise to transform so maybe the good version of this is just wings rise or light wings rise, something along those lines. We also hear nooroo in the show tell hawk moth “your miraculous was never intended to be used in this way”. The only thing I’m not sure about is the purification power of lady bug that you mentioned, it could also be bad writing on their part unless we see that ladybug can purify evil adversary of other miraculous too. Also when Natalie transform there doesn’t seem to be any evil key word she uses, she just says spread my feathers but that could just be that centi monsters are already controlled by the user and can be used for evil regardless of an evil key word being said I think. That’s pretty much my theory.

as much as I love this theory, I'm afraid it isn't sustainable due to the fact that the french version has each transformations with the same phrase. What I mean is in english we have ladybug saying "tikki, spots on" and "tikki, spots off", cat noire is "plagg, claws in/out" etc.... its related to their animal. In french its just "tikki transform me/ de-transform me." Not sure why the phrasing was changed between languages but that's why I presume the transformation phrases might not be as significant as some fans or theorists make it out to be.

What if the ladybug miraculous and cat miraculous were the first ones created to keep everything in balance. And then they just kept making more and more miraculous after that. Because there was multiple miracle boxes. So maybe they were just created after and they weren't really used, and we're guarded forever. While the ladybug miraculous is shown to have been used much more than the others. It had many more wielders.

Also with the transformation phrase being "Dark wings rise" seems like it would be too evil for someone good, I imagine a good butterfly user saying like "Light wings rise" or something... since.. the Eagle miraculous thing had "Wings of Liberty" and "Wings of Prey" depending if it was a good or bad guy

Like how she can purify the akumas and amuks, maybe since there are more miraculouses(the ones that burned down in the temple) maybe there was more miraculouses that purified and could physically have evil tuitions

Ladybug represents Luck, and what is lucky? Creation and reversion of damage. Nooroo and Duusu aren’t bad kwami’s their owners are. The butterfly miraculous can make people superhero’s not just supervillains. And the peacock can be used for good.

The miraculous are just vessels for the kwami to be interact for the world, I thought. Kwamis are born from 'concepts' and a new kwami is created when a new concept is born. They agree to be totally bound to their miraculous and miraculous holder, and their powers are limited by their owners. So its not about good or evil- the concept exists, and so the kwami exist, and so a vessel is made for them. The holder is the one that uses the power and chooses how its used. The butterfly miraculous was described as 'inspiring loyalty' and 'bestowing temporary powers.' Hawk Moth can use it in an evil manner because he's using people with strong negative emotions and offering them powers to resolve that emotion. Along with the threat of removing the power, and the promise that all they have to do is give him the miraculous he wants and they can keep their solution forever, plus the miraculous inspiring loyalty, Hawk Moth can use the power evilly. The peacock miraculous creates beings based on emotions- any emotion. Negative emotions take shape as negative things. When Natalie made Lady Amuk, she did it out of love for Gabriel and a desire to be the one who makes his dream come true. This is part of why Lady Amuk could be reasoned with in my opinion. She wasn't made with strong negative emotions, but twisted, positive ones. Its a little tricky to think of how the Ladybug miraculous could be used improperly, but if you remember when Mister Bug used lucky charm, he not only got what he asked for- a mirror- but also something with a more straightforward answer. Coin like object that could be used as a screwdriver. Lady Noir was the one to see it, because subconsciously Mister Bug always thinks of her as the one that solves the puzzle. I actually thought about that too, since once was said Hawkmoth can make everyone an ally or something. What if the whole Purification was not really about villains, more evil forces all together? Like Akuma is Demon in Japanese, what if they actually were some kind of exorcists and fought demons or evil spirits and purified possessed people? Since everything is possible with miraculous and in that world it is not that far to think about evil forces like demons or spirits, what about Yokai which often posses furniture or tools, break it and purify it, this might also be a bridge to the Amoks or Mayura, she possesses a tool and makes it a weappon or other, more advanced tool, which is also seen in Yokai, Since we also have an animal theme we might can also think about endangerment and therefore humans destroying it's own living space, in some tales it is said that Yokai or spirits disappear from the world since it is near destruction or something, maybe we haven't seen those things since they hide, maybe the powers are given depending on spirits being around, since negativity connects to more negativity and those being around maybe posses them and the Akuma makes it stronger or something, that would explain the Stone guys situation, it multiplied since it was not purified, so it dragged more and more negativity and reproduced on everyone.

I think that Ladybug has the purification power because her suit abilities/characteristics adapt to the environment and the miraculous wielder’s perception of the costume. But also i think that they gave Ladybug that power because it makes sense plot wise and back in S1 the show was oriented more towards children so maybe the team didn’t really think this through since the show was for kids? I really dont know haha

seeing that the miraculous can evolve for situations, seeing from the newest episodes. That means that the peacock and Butterfly miraculous was always used for good, but when it was caused from constant mishandling of the peacock and butterfly miraculous that skill was made. If so, that means if the pig miraculous were to use their power for evil, which is psychological that mean neither the miraculous lady bug( used to fix physical damages such as trix's illustration and chat noir's cataclysm) or the capture spell ( for the akuma's and amucks) she would need to make another skill to cure those psychological damage or revert that.

The consequence of granting a wish with the ladybug earrings and cat noir ring, is that whatever you wish for, effects someone else. For example, Hawk Moth (most likely) wants to use the miraculous to get his wife back. If he wishes that, his wife will awaken from her coma (well, she is either dead or in a coma). however, the consequence is that someone else will get into a coma.

Just had an add on theory! What if Ladybug's "de evilization" power was given to her after Master Fu found out (from Wayzz) that the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses were being used for evil, and he has a way of doing that because he is The Guardian (until the end of season 3). In other words, Master Fu could have added a power to Ladybug, because all the other Miraculouses only have one power.

If owner of butterfly or peacock miraculous will not take their amock or akuma back for bad thing then any super hero have to deakumatized or deamoketizted the super villain and if super hero wants to defeat the villain then she or he have to purify the amoke or akuma if super hero will not purify the Aklima or amoke then it will multiply. As far as i know ladybug have to capture the akuma before it flys away because the akuma will mutiply hundred times (not sure why) and will become much more dangerous and thats why hawkmoth dosent devilize himself the akuma and ladybug needs to devilize it himself and in season 1 origins episode you can see ladybug didnt know she had to capture the akuma and the akuma got multiplied to thousands

My theory is that the ladybug miraculous can restore things to it's past self because she restores Paris after they defeat the villians. This might mean that the yoyo restore the akumas and amuks to when they didn't get the evil power into them allowing her to de-evilize them.

idk...considering the order of the guardians has existed for a long time and has guarded the miraculous in their respective boxes, I can't imagine any miraculouses having been used for evil in centuries if not millenia. The butterfly miraculous simply uses the target's emotion so that's why they allow hawk moth to control them...usually, or simply because he threatens to take their powers if they don't comply. It's not completely a manipulation thing, it is explained in the show that its original purpose was to create heroes to aid in battle, same with the peacock's miraculous, the sentimonster's nature depends on what it was created for.

Youre theory is good but I think the peacock and butterfly miraculouses were once used in good. Its mentioned in the first ever episode that the ladybug and black cat miraculouses are the two most powerfull ones. And i think thats why Ladybug can capture an evil akuma and amok. So I was researching about the moth miraculous and this is what I found: it turns out that if the moth miraculous is going to be used for evil, The sentence will be " Nooro, *DARK* wings rise!" But if it is used for good, it would be normal like: "Nooro, wings rise!" And also, I don't think the moth and peacock were always used for evil. The moth could have been used to strengthen people whilst the peacock could make things to help around. And the purification could bc used to purify them once they were done with the akuma and amuck

i think, the peacock and butterfly miraculous's power is to enforce will and grant power by adding energies. When used for good happiness would be use making the akuma or umak glow but when darkness you can see the dark energies moved in it, the umak or akuma is just a carrier the energies are the power. I also think that every miraculous has a power of using energies to do magical stuff. Therefore, all the miraculous's have the power to create dark energy carriers and can purify, but they can only purify and control other's energies if they are stronger than them. Ladybug is again and again shown to be the strongest and is gifted to be able to control other stuff, she is also the only one trained somewhat by master Fu and hence knows how the miraculous's magic works with energies. :D

Maybe since the ladybug miraculous is the most powerful, it has the ability to cancel other miraculous abilities, in the event the users of the miraculous are for some reason unable to undo or call back third power. Like reversing cataclysm caused by the cat miraculous(since it doesn't have the ability to undo it itself) and akumas and amocks(in the event the creator doesn't have the miraculous anymore or if it gets lost, cause as we saw with the akumas, once they are out of rand u can no longer control because u lost contact. With the amocks were it was shown even after Fu detransformeer the sentimoster remained and even tho mayura had the miraculous next she couldn't control it since she didn't create it.) So I believe the ladybug miraculous has these powers so that in any of these events, the user can restore balance without the need of the other miraculous.
