We're glad you enjoyed it, Jim! Thank you so much for making the journey down to our newly opened showroom in Exeter. We're excited to make a splash with the new Dolphin and can't wait to see more on the road soon.

The design team should be proud of themselves. It's not only very attractive inside and out, but it's truly unique and interesting. Europe gets all the cool little cars. Americans don't appreciate small cars, which is a shame. We have terrible taste in automobiles.
I test drove the Dolphin this morning and was very impressed. The current PCP deal is very good so I think i'll be putting my order in this week.

UK car reviews is so totally different from those from Sweden. Living in the Volvo-land Sweden the reviews of small cars is always with a hint of that it's not a Volvo or an estate. It's like "we have to review this small chines car but we can't be to positive". The norm in Sweden seems to be Volvo and other big cars. Keep it up you UK reviewers! I drive a VW e-up 2020.

Would you take it over the MG4 though? Surely that's it's biggest competitor? Or is that just my Australian bias where of the other comparison models you mentioned we only have the Ora and MG4?
@DefinitelyNotAGuru Жыл бұрын
It's a smaller car than the MG4, build quality is much better in the Dolphin and I rather trust their battery technology more than the MG setup which, in my experience, has struggled to get anywhere close to claimed range figures. The MG4 is a great drive though.

@@DefinitelyNotAGuruits BIGGER than an MG4 👍

It looks quite nice. Wish we could get smaller cars here in the states but if its not an American midsize, or the length of a yacht, nobody will buy it. It’s why Fiat left. It’s why Smart left. Its why I’m sad.

Fiat left because they make absolutely shitty cars.

So it is very similar to the id.3 but with way better software and cheaper...the Chinese have gone from copycat jokes and cars like the Trunchie to this in about 10 years,just as Top Gear predicted.

Ive recently purchased mine and BYD knocked off 3k and fitted Hankooks after the linglongs were dreadful! I prefer the dolphin over my old cupra born, mg4 and niro. Oh and the 0-62 currently is 6.4 on cold uk roads so when its warm i should see about 6.2 ishh.... Highly recommended this car. Mines on urban grey

The blade batteries charge themselves to 100% with no longevity issues. And if you’re car spends most its time sitting in the driveway you can just charge off the household power socket, no expense to needing to install a charging adapter, most the time you’re topping up from 70% anyway.

I know I shouldn't be watching this video, but I have to comment on the colours as requested. I think that it is lovely and could buy one when my existing car (Nissan Note) begins to get to get unreliable, it is almost 10 years old. However, I am not keen on the colours because they look a bit wishy washy. I would like to see it in a darker metallic red or dark metallic green, they are stylish colours without being boring. The car seems to have everything that I would want, it is easy to drive and is comfortable, which is what I want at my age.

I like my Volkswagen the ID3 but disappointed with Volkswagen as a company so don't really want to get another one to replace it. So very interested that you preferred this to the ID3

The 2 tone paint can't brighten up the dull exterior I'm afraid! 👎😤 But you can't see the exterior when your driving it though, so that's a plus point. 👍 But the interesting stylish interior makes up for it though. Would I have one over a MG4? Yes, I probably would.👍😁

I thought these Chinese EVs were supposed to be mega cheap? The lower UK spec Comfort model is £30k. That's not cheap...
@Peoplestariff Жыл бұрын
The smaller battery version comes to the uk next year & will be the cheapest EV on sale in the UK undercutting the MG4 by £1k - and hopefully we might get the Seagull for £18k (my guess) which will undercut most petrol cars & then new EVs will within reach for more but if you want cheap you’re best to look at the used market where decent 2 year old EVs can be picked up for as little as £10k - but what we call cheap is obviously subjective
