My cousin has a truck like yours,it’s yellow though. We did a pro street look,& was fairly simple. We took the driver’s side leaf springs and relocated them on the inside of the passenger side frame using the same hole’s. Moved the passenger side leaf springs and hanger’s to the driver’s inside of frame. We removed that cross brace temporarily till front hangers were bolted in then welded the cross brace behind the hangers for strength. The flip kit you have is still used just replace leaf springs mounting locations. He was able to use a 15x15 rim with a tall tire inside the fender well and talk about looks badazz too. You do have to modify the bed for wider tubs after you select your tire size but till then we ran it with no tubs just a home made plywood bed cover for a lil weight back there. Y’all have the tools now to make that truck hook on dirt,lol.

Yeah I have a buddy that done the same thing. I’m gonna leave it unless a 28 10.5 doesn’t fit.
@rachalhollier5679 Жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure a 28x10.5 fit’s like it belongs there. You might have to lower the rear even more to stay level.

Wow, my 83 GMC rear axle set up is different from yours… I don’t have the bushings that you sawed off. I’m also in the process of dropping my rear end. And my axle U bracket don’t have the C notch in it, it’s just a U shape with out the curve

I know this is a couple yrs old. But I would personally weld the flip kit to the axle after setting the pinion angle. I wouldn't trust the axle not to rotate back and forth.

Yeah definitely a good idea. I’m planning on some upgrades in the near future and plan on welding them when I’m doing it.🤙

I’m doing this on my c10 and also have a play in the new spring mounts. Did you end up welding them in or just left them?
@EdsGarage997 ай бұрын
I left them for now, haven't had any problems. But I probably will when I get some slicks on it!

Nice build! I'm currently building the same truck. I love the 15x10 Rally's in the rear. Do you know if these were a factory option or aftermarket? I've done plenty of research and nothing is coming up with the 15x10...
@EdsGarage99 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! They’re after market, I bought them from Summit Racing years ago. I don’t think they sell them anymore though.

Thanks for the reply. I kinda figured and thought I'd ask. I currently have the 5x8 rallys and I'm about to swap my rear end as well but with an 8.8 LSD 410 gears. I'm going to need to make up for the few inches I'm losing going with the 8.8 swap.....

Daniel Viorato it’s a McGaughy’s 4.5/6 lowering kit. 4.5 in the front and 6 in the rear.

@@EdsGarage99 does that make it even or does it make it a little lower in the front? Because I’m looking to make it even. Thank you!
