On upgrades, have you tried Amsoil signature series? I’ve used Amsoil for 30 years and it does increase performance. Mobil 1 is good, but it’s base stock is from group 3 oils, which are still derived from crude oil. Combinations of group 4 and group 5 synthetics create a more expensive product but performs better and is worth the cost!
@Toys4Life Жыл бұрын
Last winter I spent several days researching everything and anything I could find on the various oils, tests, standards, more test etc. It's mind-boggling how much information is out there and how much marketing is out there too.. I believe AMSOIL is a damn good oil, but I'm not sure mobile one's not more than good enough for what I do - if that makes sense 😕.
@darrylsjodin7184 Жыл бұрын
@@Toys4Life Yes absolutely, especially for every day driving, although probably not representative of most applications, I recently saw an oil analysis sheet of Mobil 1 a guy posted on line and was was showing how low the wear metals were but didn’t notice that the viscosity had dropped from a 30 weight to a 20 weight in 4,000 miles of every day driving. More regular reports would need to be done of course as that could be due to multiple factors. I just looked up the msds and spec sheets for both Mobil 1 and Amsoil 5W-30 and the pour point for Mobil is -33 f and Amsoil is -58f. The flash point for Mobil is 392f and Amsoil is 428f. The wider range of Amsoil would indicate higher extreme temp stability as in racing and more fluidity and cold starts on cold mornings. It’s also built to maintain viscosity longer. If you want to try it I can help you register as a preferred customer to save 25% and get free shipping over a $100 order. If you haven’t seen them, I would recommend the Project Farm oil test video and Gale Banks’s how synthetic oil is made. Nice to talk to you! Love your cars and RC cars!

If you can narrow it down and give me more information about each one of those areas, I could probably toss out a ballpark idea?
