I'm sure their legal advisers know precisely what the law is. They are just choosing to ignore it and issue a "policy" down to each NT property that states NT properties are "no fly" areas and this gets told to visitors. It does not follow the drone laws, but they know the vast majority of visitors will conform with what they say rather than make a scene.

It actually wouldn't be stealing to confiscate something if it were to land on their grounds. If it were to crash then they would have the right to take the person to court and apply for damages to the property. I'm sure he's completely insured though and probably for up to £5 million or maybe even more so that wouldn't be a problem. Threatening to destroy his drone and actually carrying that out though, that would be illegal.

rather than being a greedy corporate company, they are a charity that maintains buildings (often gifted to the Trust by the family owners), maintain the coastline and pastureland and even villages. For a small annual charge you can visit all these wonderful places. I think they perform a wonderful service to the populus.

Not sure how it works in the UK but in the USA, our equivalent of the CAA , the FAA, regulates ALLLLLLL airspace. The emphasis on ALL is added because they've clarified even if it's an inch above your garden, it's still regulated by the FAA (unless it's an enclosed space with a roof). Also, shooting down a drone will bring you federal charges just as shooting at an airplane or helicopter would.

We regularly fly paragliders over Avebury at various altitudes from 100ft to cloud base on cross country flights from nearby Milk Hill (a Thames Valley Club Site). Also the Military and GA heavily fly over. This employee is a little confused about Open class G airspace 😂 Many flights from there on my KZbin channel.
