maybe the owner can sponsor us too.. love FREE swag. seriously I still don't get why this cost $45? that's like a dollar a stitch For this kind of money I want magnets stitched into each side or an industrial grade snap button that can take abuse or a simple belt and loop system because it's held up men's pants since the bronze age? Velcro never lasts.

I used some leftover velcro from my pedal board, some leftover thick foam, a needle and a thread and I sewed one together for like 20 minutes. No instructions or anything, I just improvised and it turned out fine the first try. I am not even good at DIY - it is just very easy. That was like 8 years ago and it still works, I guess the foam I had is very long lasting. :)

I use old foam and bit of pedalboard velcro (spikey side on foam so the soft side can wrap behind the nut round the neck n not cause damage) never snap the buggers and they last really well. Look horrific but not too fussed about all of that. The other way is just stick a block of foam behind the nut under the strings, looks better and works just as well ;)

Quick question...and not a guitar related one (so my apologies) but in this video and others I've heard you say "Thomann" using the English pronunciation of "th" as in "throw" or "path"...but being a German company, wouldn't the "th" in "Thomann" be pronounces as a hard "t", as in "toll" or "tom"?

Hello BryanMiranda96, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the string muters. I wanted to clarify that I've never produced 5 cm or 6 cm wide string muters, as these dimensions would be impractical. My designs have always been 4 cm wide for the standard size, which you can still find in my online shop under the drop-down menu. Additionally, I now offer a new, more compact version that is 3 cm wide. I invite you to check out both options, and I'm confident you'll find the quality and functionality you've come to expect from my string muters. Best regards, Patrick

I bought a GruvGear Fret Wrap for my Strat years ago & for sure the price point made me think it ought to play the hard guitar parts FOR me. But then later I wanted one for my Tele & thought I’d go the Ali Express route for it. About the same experience as you - a 3/pk for a few dollars. But I swear those things smelled horrible. Like ‘toxic off-gassing’… ‘toilet paper of Bigfoot’… ‘will likely give you cancer in 1.6 seconds’, level smells. I’ve since bought two more GruvGear Fret Wraps in the intervening time & just ate the price. Didn’t want to go thru that type of dress hell again. It’s weird how so many people SWEAR that they make no difference, while I can tell immediately on certain chords that the ‘chime’ (or however else you could describe that irritating sound from the strings above the nut) is eliminated.

Not getting a quote on shipping costs and taxes before I sign up with my email is an immediate no for me. They don't need my email address to calculate that and I know they'll be sending me spam trying to convince me to buy the article that I almost bought, because all these shops have the exact same layout because they are all built on the same kit using the same dark patterns.

@@sixstringtv1 Of course, it's not him sending these manually, it's the web shop framework that he uses. I've seen this very same framework used on many pages. In any case, my point stands why I need to enter my email address just to figure out how much shipping to Germany would be. Or if tax is included, added or if I need to pay it to the postal service together with a hefty upcharge.
@HufschmidGuitars
@HufschmidGuitars 3 ай бұрын
Hello,I'd like to address some misunderstandings directly. There's no need for an email address to receive a shipping quote on my site-just add the items to your basket and head to checkout to see the €12 flat worldwide shipping rate. Moreover, I don't send promotional emails or maintain a mailing list. For 15 years of crafting plectrums, my focus has been on the craft itself, not marketing. As for the craftsmanship, I am the only self-employed artisan in my business, no 'they' here. The multiple videos on my website clearly shows that each piece is personally made by me, underscoring the hands-on approach I take pride in. Thank you for your time.
@emulgatorx
@emulgatorx 3 ай бұрын
@@HufschmidGuitars Thanks for commenting. That's exactly what I did. I put the item in the cart, went to checkout, entered my full address and it still shows "shipping" as "pending" until I go to the next step which mandatorily requires an email address and a phone number. For example purposes, I now also went to the next step and it then shows me the EUR 12.- shipping costs. But only after I entered all my personal details. It's an intentional pattern in that webshop framework to force users to enter their personal information, even if they have no strong intent to order. I don't know how much you can configure this, but please change it if you can or use a different framework. Or at least provide the information on the terms and conditions page which currently only lists domestic shipping and runtimes for international shipping but no costs. I have never questioned your "small business" story or craftsmanship and I understand that you just signed up for a webshop framework that you use. Please also note that "they" is a generic placeholder pronoun if gender or number of people involved is unknown. But as a potential customer, it's extremely off-putting to have such a process in place. So I politely informed you of the shortcomings of said framework.
@HufschmidGuitars
@HufschmidGuitars 3 ай бұрын
@@emulgatorx Hello, Thank you for your diligence in going through the checkout process. Indeed, an email address and phone number are required at a certain stage, primarily to comply with international customs declaration requirements. Again, your personal information is used solely for this purpose and to send you the actual tracking information. Again, I do not use a mailling list and send promotion emails. I have never done that in 15 years of plectrum activity. I'd also like to clarify the use of "they." As highlighted at the top of my online shop, I am the sole artisan responsible for every aspect of my business-so the reference to 'they' is not applicable in this case. It is my aim to ensure that the individual care and craftsmanship I put into each creation is well understood and appreciated by my customers. Best regards
