The Cadillac XLR Roadster is a Gentleman's Corvette and a Definite Future Collectible *SOLD*

SOLD It's no secret that I love Cadillacs, which predisposes me to liking the XLR - a 2 seat roadster utilizing Cadillac's kind of silly "art and science" design philosophy. I believe it wears the angles and creases better than any other car in their lineup, and one can readily see the inspiration drawn from a Stealth Fighter. The lines are really like nothing else out there, and it sits lower, longer, and wider than its competition at the time.
The folding hard top is produced by a company that was a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, and while not the quickest operation out there, it is a wonder to watch operate, and fold neatly in to the trunk.
Mechanically, GM eschewed the LS motor that could have come with the Corvette underpinnings, opting instead for Cadillac's signature Northstar V8, though pumped up from sedan spec to 320HP. It uses the Magnetic Ride Control pioneered by Delphi (and also used by Ferrari), which insures a stable and comfortable ride under almost any conditions.
The interior surfaces have all been upgraded to meet the requirements of a car in this price category, and plastic is out, replaced by leather, wood and metal trim.
All in all, I love it. It looks great, drives very well, and has all the ingredients to become a collectible car in the very near future. SOLD

These XLR's are really one of the finest Cadillac's in the last 10-15 years. Look and styling is timeless, fine engine, it's not an everybody 's car! -and that makes it desirable - in my opinion, of course. And here in Europe they are very rare!! Love everything about this car. Shame they don't do right hand drive versions for us here in old England. Even more than the car, I like the grumpy old man commentary about the bad driving in Naples and the cars he disapproves of as they drive in to the lot. Classic!

OMG Bill. This XLR is absolutely gorgeous. They ALL are. 100% one of my all-time favorites, as well. I think she is just about perfect with that screaming Northstar V8, gorgeous leather and wood interior and those elegant jet fighter lines that still look exotic and rare in 2024.....Jeez Louise...I want one. Don't be. The Gen III NorthStar's are Great engines. I've had a 2004 XLR and a 2006 XLR-V and Love them both. Sold the XLR with over 150,000 miles and only had 2 issues with it ... the shocks began to leak at 110,000 and a hydraulic piston for the trunk started leaking at 140,000. I'll never sell the V. Just over 33,000 miles on her now and only had to re-flash the computer at 20,000 miles. Best compromise between luxury and performance ever. ^v^

You need a driver's licence if you are FINANCING...they will not finance out of state. You do NOT NEED a licence if You are buying CASH....cash deals you just need a ID. Try a car from a different state. Also TEXAS has the WORST deals on cars in the USA. Don't buy cars from Texas unless you live in texas. That is the only way it is worth it
