the 5,56 is originally .223 winchester for the M16A1, although .223 is now used for civilian shooting. 5.56 is also developed by fairchild and remington, not FN (also the .338 is not developed by sako, its .338 federal thats developed by sako)

The .357 SIG is actually intended to be semi-confused with the Magnum. It was designed to mimic the .357 Magnum's performance, but for a magazine fed pistol. Hence needing to be bottlenecked - it had to be shortened to fit the grip but still needs the gunpowder. Funnily enough the bullet isn't actually .357 diameter at all, but the link to .357 Mag was important enough to give that name anyway. 5.7x28mm also doesn't just go straight through. Like rifle rounds it will yaw - turn end over end to increase it's surface area. So like rifles it can still transfer a good amount of energy. Admittedly it is a bit harder to design a bullet to do damage exactly how you want, but most agencies demand a lot of penetration and they can certainly transfer all of the energy in the standard 12 inches demanded. It's likely a little less damaging than 9mm but really not a significant difference unless you're deviating from the penetration requested.

9mm is actually semi-rimmed, where the rim is *slightly* larger than the case diameter. It also semi-tapered, with a nearly imperceptible taper. This is a quirk of 9mm being a very old cartridge. This is why the internal geometry of double stack 9mm magazines is weird.

Some parts of the video are kinda on the slow part, and i imagine non-gun people would just skip over them. Otherwise, great video, very much kept me interested! Never knew there was a 357 auto round from sig! Edit: 7.62 nato galil exists, and it's called Galil ARM, which is used in cs 1.6. The straight wide is indeed a mag for 7.62 nato. I could be wrong, but didn't Remington first create the .223 Remington round which was later adopted as 5.56x45mm by the US military? Edit: it seems that FN may have been the first producer of 5.56x45mm after it was adopted by NATO around 1980 and underwent small design changes, which is when .223 and 5.56 became two distinct cartridges !

The Steyr Scout can fire 7,62x51 Nato and or .308 winchester, the AK is in 7,62x39 which is a different cartrige all together, they are both .30 Caliber hence the 7,62mm but different in shell size, 7.62 means the diameter of the projectile fired in this case 7.62MM or .30 inches, but the key is in the last number 51mm meaning the length of the casing on 7.62x51 and 39mm in shell length on the 7.62x39mm.
