At age 18, I spoke at my dad's memorial service (he died at 49). My last words in that "Speech" were "It will be a really hard act to follow." I wish I'd done as well as Robert Levon Been has done. I'm still trying fulfill my promise... and I'm pushing 70 now... The first time I saw The Call perform, I was 16.

I've been down lately ... strange to say this but at the age of 54 I'm feeling more spiritual than I ever have before. I'm a musician, and at the age of 16 I recall hearing this song, playing it in the front room of the family home on my Mum's piano. I searched it up on the ol' Itunes yesterday and gladly rediscovered it, and have played it (along with 'The Walls' and 'Let The Day Begin') possibly over 30 times ... Life is a strange journey ... I now have lived through what Michael mentions in his song - pain, tears, shame and grief etc (not wars thankfully) ... ironically I'm restoring my old bass guitar at the moment that I bought from a friend at the age of 16 ... RIP Michael Been

My God, that was chilling. While not the vocal dynamo that his father was (who is, though?), it's uncanny and somewhat unnerving to basically see and hear a young Michael Been performing alongside The Call again. What a heartbreakingly fantastic tribute to his father - nicely done, Robert!

I'm trying to envision the fact that Robert Levon Been grew up knowing The Call band mates of his own father and how he identified, to whatever extent, to the life of his Dad through the personal experience of his Dad's FAITH and his acknowledgement of who his Dad was; in THE KINGDOM OF GOD...

No better way to pay tribute to a father than by his son. This band was a bright light during a very hit and miss era of music. So very underrated and overlooked by those that thought the music scene was somewhere else. Critics are clueless, this band is proof. God Bless you Michael, Robert and The Call.

I had no idea his son had taken the reigns. Not exact, but pretty darn close. He is his own self, and I completely appreciate that. wow..... This means, if ever possibly I see them coming around.....I will see them. The legacy lives on. Your Dad would be proud young man. The Call saved this life.....carry on young man, do great things.

He does his dad proud....epicI been in a cave For forty days Only a spark To light my way I wanna give out I wanna give in This is our crime This is our sin But I still believe I still believe Through the pain And the grief Through the lies Through the storms Through the cries And through the wars Oh, I still believe Flat on my back Out at sea Hopin' these waves Don't cover me I'm turned and tossed Upon the waves When the darkness comes I feel the grave You might also like I Don’t Wanna The Call Everywhere I Go The Call The Walls Came Down The Call But I still believe I still believe Through the cold And the heat Through the pain And through the tears Through the crowds And through the cheers Oh, I still believe I'll march this road I'll climb this hill Down on my knees if I have to I'll take my place Up on this stage I'll wait 'til the end of time For you like everybody else I'm out on my own Walkin' the streets Look at the faces That I meet I feel like I like I want to go home What do I feel What do I know But I still believe I still believe Through the shame And through the grief Through the heartache Through the years Through the waiting Through the years For people like us In places like this We need all the hope That we can get Oh, I still believe

If he sounds like his old man is cos he's a chip off the old block. A great delightful tune & justice was done to this song. This has always been a favorite song from the 80's. Especially where a 1977 Buick Regal that was considered something special to me. I supplied the high-performance parts & my mechanic modified the engine for me. I don't think I ever loved a car like that Buick Regal. There's times I think about my 1977 Buick. If I ever went back to the 80's & it was possible. The only way I'd go back, only if my Buick Regal was waiting for me. 1987 was when this song was popular. Another group covered this song for the Movie "The Lost Boys." It still was a great song the way it was done. If the Calls version had been used instead, it would've helped them more with this song. This particular version is a great song. Great job with this one.

Personally, my favorite bass playing singer is Sting and a very close second is Michael Been. The CALL is in my top five for sure.

Love it, I feel sorry for people born in the nineties. The eighties were awesome. I'm so glad I was around even though it means I'm old now 😅

WOW. So much like your Dad. I saw them live, followed a good bit live late ‘80’s early ‘90’s or so… your Dad was electrifying. The whole band phenomenal. You really nailed this. I am sure he is proud of you. 🙏💞💔💔💔💞🙏
