I've been down lately ... strange to say this but at the age of 54 I'm feeling more spiritual than I ever have before. I'm a musician, and at the age of 16 I recall hearing this song, playing it in the front room of the family home on my Mum's piano. I searched it up on the ol' Itunes yesterday and gladly rediscovered it, and have played it (along with 'The Walls' and 'Let The Day Begin') possibly over 30 times ... Life is a strange journey ... I now have lived through what Michael mentions in his song - pain, tears, shame and grief etc (not wars thankfully) ... ironically I'm restoring my old bass guitar at the moment that I bought from a friend at the age of 16 ... RIP Michael Been

At age 18, I spoke at my dad's memorial service (he died at 49). My last words in that "Speech" were "It will be a really hard act to follow." I wish I'd done as well as Robert Levon Been has done. I'm still trying fulfill my promise... and I'm pushing 70 now... The first time I saw The Call perform, I was 16.

When THE CALL first hit the air ways. I was Young, in the Army and away from home. I was in a local place where I went to get a civilian meal..LOL.. This song place on the radio they had on. I right then thought, 'well...finally a real bunch of rock and rollers' ... I have always loved this band. I am so sad the Michael is not with us. I am now an old goat, but I still Believe !

I'm trying to envision the fact that Robert Levon Been grew up knowing The Call band mates of his own father and how he identified, to whatever extent, to the life of his Dad through the personal experience of his Dad's FAITH and his acknowledgement of who his Dad was; in THE KINGDOM OF GOD...

No better way to pay tribute to a father than by his son. This band was a bright light during a very hit and miss era of music. So very underrated and overlooked by those that thought the music scene was somewhere else. Critics are clueless, this band is proof. God Bless you Michael, Robert and The Call.

If he sounds like his old man is cos he's a chip off the old block. A great delightful tune & justice was done to this song. This has always been a favorite song from the 80's. Especially where a 1977 Buick Regal that was considered something special to me. I supplied the high-performance parts & my mechanic modified the engine for me. I don't think I ever loved a car like that Buick Regal. There's times I think about my 1977 Buick. If I ever went back to the 80's & it was possible. The only way I'd go back, only if my Buick Regal was waiting for me. 1987 was when this song was popular. Another group covered this song for the Movie "The Lost Boys." It still was a great song the way it was done. If the Calls version had been used instead, it would've helped them more with this song. This particular version is a great song. Great job with this one.

Anyone else still putting on "Let the Day Begin" and the other The Call classics at least once a week in their house? I can't let these songs go, they're just too much a part of me!

Absolutely sounds as good or better today than when it came out. Blows the shit on the radio of today, out of the water.

I was looking for a live version of Norman Brown and Michael McDonald's "I Still Believe" and this popped up. Serendipity. This is awesome. I love it all.

Yes, like father like son.. You know it for sure. Heard it the other day, on Russ Taffs' recording. Then became curious as to the original. Found that on U Tube. Then had to listen to the son singing. Awesome. "WE STILL BELIEVE".
