The Call | Season 2022 Cinematic - League of Legends | Reaction

The red wookie is Ornn, God of the Forge. The few scenes where he is making a sword is significant because Ornn hasn't forged a weapons in over a thousand years. The making of a weapon is a sign that war is coming. The ice place is Freljord. The lady on the boar (Bristle) is Sejuani. She is leading her small group of warriors (including Olaf, the dude who head butt the ice) against the Ursine (the polar bear dudes). Sejuani is part of a much larger group, but they are scattered into many smaller groups to make survival easier (less mouths to feed logic). The Ursine are followers of a god named Volibear (The bear in the clouds). The Ursine are men who can transform into bears and use lightning because they worship Volibear. They stole a cauldron from Ornn that allows any mortal to go a year without food if they drink from it. (Ornn and Volibear are brothers, but they don't like eachother). The Ursine stole the cauldron because Volibear believes it makes men weak. (Man needs to be fighting constantly to stay strong logic). The desert area is a region of Shurima. Taliyah (the earthbending lady) and Kai'sa (purple girl) have teamed up recently to fight the Xer'sai (smaller tunneling monsters from the Void). The Xer'sai are children of the big creature, Rek'sai. In the end, Kai'sa sacrifices herself (not in a dying way but like a freedom way) by leading Rek'sai back to the void while Taliyah seals the tunnel. Taliyah is all about protecting people and Kai'sa is all about fighting void monsters. Kai'sa's suit is actually a living creature that created a symbiotic relationship with Kai'sa (think venom). Kai'sa was a normal human girl, but she got trapped in the void at a young age and had to fight for survival while miraculously keeping her hair, skin, and makeup beautiful. The spartan is Pantheon but also has the human name Atreus. (I'm a bit iffy on this side of the lore). Pantheon is a man that was possessed/gained the power of the aspect of war, but the aspect of war died and gave Pantheon his humanity back (or something like that). He is climbing Mount Targon which is like a magical mountain that the celestials and aspects (basically gods) reside. Few mortals are able to reach the top of Mount Targon. Those that do are granted great power. (Reason Pantheon got the power of the aspect of war.) The men he encounters by the portal are the solari. They are men who worship the sun. Pantheon drives his spear into the ground because he does not have any quarrel with humans. Pantheon hates the celestials and aspects which is why he is ascending the mountain to fight them. He beats the shit out of the men, but he doesn't kill them because his fight is with the aspects. The gold lady, Leona appears from the portal to fight Pantheon. (The look he gives her is him being glad he's finally found the opponent he's been looking for). Leona is the aspect of the sun and leader of the solari. During the fight, Pantheon is blasted by a giant laser, which is theorized to be a falling star from a being named Aurelion Sol. He is a giant space that created the universe and likely the final boss opponent for Pantheon. The final bit of Pantheon's part of the video, he is using his god powers to jump back to the top of the mountain which is his ultimate in the game where he can jump halfway across the map and come crashing down on his enemies. If there is anything I missed or got wrong I'm sure there will be replies correcting me.

There’s more to it, but you’re better off watching a video that explains the full cinematic, Necrit has videos on both of them. The red Ram looking guy is a Frejlordian Demi God, he’s one of the first beings on the planet and among those who shaped the planet. He’s a master forger so killed that he made a fork and people used it as an all powerful trident. He once vowed to never make a weapon again, but here we see him forging a weapon despite having not done so for centuries. This is him answering “the call” once more to prepare for the upcoming battle, whatever that is.

I had another comment but I think it got deleted somehow? But league doesn’t have a movie, but it has an animated TV show, of which s2 will be releasing this year. It’s called Arcane.

@@WadeWadeReacts Arcane is very tiny part of leagues lore. It’s set in piltover and zaun which is one of the major regions at the moment, but they’re just two large cities. There are other regions Demacia, Noxus, Shurima, Targon, etc. which are much larger and hold greater importance. For example Targon is where we see the shield guy fight in front of the portal. On top of Targon is the entrance to Targon Prime, the celestial weapon, and mortals who make it to the top become aspects which are basically hosts for celestial Gods. In this cinematic we see pantheon(aspect of war) fight Leona(aspect of the sun). But Pantheon does not have his celestial powers. The constellation of pantheon was ripped out of the heavens and the god killed by Aatrox, the red guy with the big sword who was fighting the two Angel looking characters in the other cinematic. Pantheon has access to the aspect dormant powers but he doesn’t have full control/access, he’s able to access it through his willpower, which is why when he see him fall down and he decides to climb back up, he’s literally able to jump into space. - Targon is a lot more relevant piece of the lore as it’s literally the source of all the gods and most overpowered beings in the story. Riot just announced that Arcane is the main canon for league of legends. Right now it is being set in piltover and zaun but it’s likely going to expand beyond those places in later seasons. There’s a Necrit Video title, “The world of Riot’s MMO is already done”, and it will give you some perspective on the world and the significance that piltover and zaun has to the rest of the league world. Spoiler art: it’s very little, Piltover is just a very successful city with advanced technology when it comes to the grand scheme of things. They’re the most technologically advanced part of runeterra but Their importance is due to hextech because hextech allows you to essentially arm all of your citizenry with the power of mages when typically magic is something reserved for the few who are born with it. Noxus, for example, is a much more important piece of the lore as they are a large empire that has conquered parts of multiple continents, and I suspect we will delve more into Noxus in future seasons

Hey if you wanna learn a little about each reagion in Runeterra you can watch the Tales of Runeterra, there should be a playlist with like 6 or 7 videos in them, on for each main region. Or continue watching some of these cinematics, for example "the ionian myth" and "kin of the stained blade", keep in mind that some are meant to be watched together, for example these two i just mentioned. Otherwise, you can just react to Necrit's videos about the full lore of this world, it will help contextualize arcane in the BIG picture that is the Universe. Btw the games made by riot are parts and use content from the universe, from now one they will be canon. Keep in mind that League gameplay has no lore elements ;)

I completely disagree with the people saying The Call is better. Still Here for me is their finest work by far with these cinematics. I think many people miss a lot on first watch with Still Here but it's literally perfect in how it's written and interlaced with the song and the entire concept of defying death (Kindred) and pushing one's limits. The Trynd/Kindred fight is absolutely stunning and there's so much symbolism, with Ashe coming to save Trynd from certain death. Kindred being slightly confused as to why Trynd just won't die when it should be his time. The fact Aatrox is the one responsible for Trynd's undying rage ability. Nah, The Call is crazy good, but I wholeheartedly disagree that Still Here is a downgrade. It just needs 5 or 6 rewatches whilst understanding the lore in detail to fully appreciate Still Here. The Call is just a close second.

Riot Games haven't made a movie, but they have made a TV show, Arcane. It's animated in a different style from this, but still very pretty. Show is good too.
