I can appreciate your love for the the F body. GM tried the smaller engine thing with the 6 Gen 4 cylinder turbo. I have had a "lust" for the Camaro since my first. In 1975 the second car I ever owned was a 68 RS... Oh and Cadillac, is the division you were trying to remember, It's a shame your pocket book is not steering the direction of the Camaro brand. There was a period in the early '90s where the engines in the Corvette and Camaro were physically the same, but had drastically different exhaust and air inlet systems that differentiated the horsepower differences. Simple mods easily brought the HP up to and often exceeded the 'Vette power numbers.

GM is leaving us high and dry on attainable performance cars. All they have is the Vette and Blackwings. JDM has a lane of their own with 30-50k sports cars.

Exactly and the Blackwing as we all know is going to bow its way out soon so the Vette is the only option left. They barely keeping up with the production of those cars. The JDM is crushing the market as they seems to understand what people want and no big on pushing EVs

They should just bring back Camaro it has too much history and a following , grand national is to low in production and very few ppl have them not too much of a following, let’s see what Chevy’s billion dollar V8 will be like for trucks…and as for a platform in the future for Camaro it’s seeing what Cadillac will do with the Alfa 2 platform all we have in this day in age is hope that it will return and return with is pedigree intact as Camaro enthusiasts are loyal to its heritage

You're right, I would love to see a Camaro come back but I don't think it will come back in a V8 any more. I believe worst case it will be a something with a single or twin turbo V6 which makes just as much power as the V8. But you never know, maybe the camaro will be a hybrid of some sort too.

@@BLUPRINT1LE The ATS shared the platform with the Camaro. I don't think we'll see another muscle car from GM for quite a while. They milked the 2010 and up Camaro until there was nothing left and they lost market share. It became stagnant. This last generation should have went for an early '70s split bumper styling to refresh interest in the car. They're next performance every man car will be electric. I would have liked them to do something with the Opel GT concept car from a few years back when they still had ties to opal. Compact car rear wheel drive good power to weight ratio.

Pumping life into Buick in the absence of Camaro? That's a tall order, IMO. I'm surprised Buick is still around, to be honest. I'll say one thing, though. I've seen exponentially more Buick commercials, in recent years, than I have for Camaro. Buick is still around and Camaro isn't. Coincidence? But a new Grand National is an interesting thought. I don't see it being a long term model in the line up, though. Probably just a curiosity they'd make for a year or two regardless of how it sells. That being said, here's what I would want to see: Keep that original body. Don't change thing on it except upgrade the tech, accordingly (lighting, modern materials to save weight, etc). Probably use the twin turbo 3.6 from the Blackwing CT4-V...or a variant with some upgrades. But the key is to keep the body as unchanged as possible. Don't create a "modern" version. THAT is the nostalgia bait that will wet the appetites of grump old EV haters, like myself and any twenty something that's seen a GNX at a car show.

Hey Jim, I know right it does sound like a tall order but like you mentioned and you hit on some points i was sitting at home thinking about, GM been advertising buick platform wayyy more than the camaro or chevy vehicles in that matter unless it was a truck. So i feel like it would be best to bring a performance segment to it and it will be extremely different than the camaro. It would get less backlash vs a huge change to a camaro we may or may not like. I agree with you on keeping the same look. The funny thing about it at recent GM showings they still show those kind of cars with LT crate engines in there so it's very possible but that;s the only thing I can think of jus thinking outside the box and let another brand get some attention it never had before.

Such blasphemy. I've been driving for 28 years man, I've never not driven a V8. I do not go to the dealerships to look at 4 and 6 bangers. Don't get me wrong, some are actually nice. But a Grand National with a 6 banger has nothing on a Grand National with a 455 ci V8 in it. That said, I would not be opposed to a COPO Grand National with a 572 or 632 😁

That’s true a COPO Grand National would be nice but the history of it has been a single turbo v6 so that would fit the idea of it. The motor they have existing which turbo’d is in the ATA V Blackwing. Thinking about the times we going into i don’t think a V8 is coming back

You need to pay closer attention. The EV demand has slacked considerably. EVs are spending many months in inventory. I think Ford has shut down lightening 150 production. All this inventory buildup has happened during the strike!!! Now they are having problems with the chargers. They are losing money hand over fist and with the Tesla supercharger network opening up to other EVs, nobody wants to put money into chargers. The EV sales spike of the last 10 years was pent up demand from a small group of EV evangelists. Most of the rest of people simply aren't interested in EVs. Hertz just announced it is selling over 20k of their EVs to replace with gas models.

Agree with the comment above. Pontiac is no longer a brand on GM and won’t come back. The reason the Hummer came back is because it was under the GMC umbrella. But the Chevelle would be nice to see. I feel like the ship has sailed for the blazer. They had the perfect opportunity to bring a K5 modern day version back and F that chance up. They should’ve learned from the Ford Bronco that’s on the road today

The SS Impala would be nice but they tried to do a version of that with the 2004-2012 body style and even though it was FWD it still didn't do well. True it didn't have a corvette motor but it wasn't favorable. I think the ship has sailed to make the impala worth buying especially how it's viewed in today times.
