Oh and a fave moment is when Tim ends up in a stolen doctor's car with a pharmaceutical saleswoman who argues with the doctor on the phone before announcing that she and Tim are going to drive off a bridge. She then says something like "up top, Tim!" to which he replies something like "No. Uh, we're not high-fiving suicide".

I was up late surfing those "top 15 adult cartoons" type webpages years ago and stumbled across this show. It was one of the few on the lists that I hadn't seen. I was instantly hooked. It's funny right from the opening scene and the humour stays the same right throughout the entire show run. It doesn't fall off towards the end either the final few episodes of the last season are some of the funniest. It's got an Irish Boston/ New York Italian vibe when the storyline concerns Tim and his friends. He lives in an impoverished multi-ethnic neighbourhood so a lot of the shenanigans go down there. Otherwise it's the Omnicorp office where Tim works (some of the most hilarioius scenes) and his middle class girldfriend Amy and her family also provide comic relief. Every episode is like a hangover movie it just escalates into the most ridiculous premises without going OTT. It has jokes similar to Archer/ Frisky Dingo, South Park and Aqua Teen Hunger Force with the pacing of the Office or Parks and Rec. Combine that with the dull animation it makes it a great show for stoners. It's not so in your face as those other cartoons much calmer pacing the characters aren't hyperactive etc highly recommend this show.

As a UK viewer, this is definitely the funniest animated series ever made (based on the number of times I laughed out loud). It reminded me of Dr Katz (which I've only seen through once, 20 years ago). Classic lines that are burnt into my brain: 'You're a frail fuck!', 'a beautiful...juicy rack of boobs.' and 'that's not a word for binoculars'.

It's style of humor is so unique and different than other shows. I guess the closest comparison to Tim (character-wise) would be Michael Bluth in Arrested Development; a normal guy surrounded by wild and zany characters. But even then, they're two completely different shows but they are spiritually very similar

I wish he hadn't changed the formular for Ten Year Old Tom. I don't mind that many of the jokes are basically the same just slightly re-arranged, I just don't like that name-thing "Toms Mom" "Dakotas Mom", it somehow makes it unrelatable to me. I still watch Life and Times, never really stopped, and I wish that Steve Dildarian gets the recognition that he deserves. Thank you for the video!

seriously, this show.. this is one of those really tough sells, like Tarantula, that is totally worth it. You gotta be persistent, make it clear the art style is not that important, the writing is actually that good. (By the way if you're doing a lot of videos on underrated shows, Tarantula would be another good place to go.) 5:35 you NAILED the reason the show works right there. It's a very delicate balance, and they zeroed right in on it. And every time things got a little too unbalanced, they modified it a bit. if Tim was getting too much bad luck, maybe next season things would turn around, the seemingly "perfect" characters would show some cracks. balanced it out. Unlike, say, Tom Goes to the Mayor.

The show was just WAAAYYYYY too ahead of it's time... Had The Life & Times of Tim come out around 2018 it would have been a massive hit. But at the time people just didn't get the humor and they didn't really see the animation as "charming" as much as they saw it as amateurish.
