When Yellowstone was in lock-down from covid, the wolves were hunting elk near the buildings around the entrance to the park. Now elk had gotten used to people being around that area, but the humans kept the wolves away. But without the constant human activity, the wolves moved in and the park staff were witnessing hunts from the windows of the buildings.

I agree with you on the pet situation... Can't handle an animal? Don't get it.
@whiskeywill885 ай бұрын
well that is true but if you don't have the time to spend with it or you don't know how to take care of it and there is more reasons then even that. great comment.

@@whiskeywill88 I think everything you listed falls under the category of not being able to handle an animal. 'handle', As in the everyday use of the word meaning to not be able to manage or 'take care of' something effectively.

Might I suggest you watch Save a Fox? They've got some videos of their gray foxes and they have jackals as well as red and artic fox. They just bought out a fur farm raising the 3/4 million to buy 500 foxes and to have the owner surrender the ability to fur farm again. They've been working on finding homes for the foxes, have to admit I've been tempted.

Your short rant at 6:00 is a little too short. I think this applies to nearly every predatory animal on Earth (except us of course, we're mean like that.) If you actually get killed by an animal, it's because you either invaded their territory, provoked them somehow, or they were in dire straights already likely due to something we've affected (climate, prey, territory, what have you) that forces them to desperate measures. Long story short, ya dun goofed.

Also yeah, if you get a pet that you can't handle or don't actually want, and then you let it go, you are killing that animal. It's domesticated (probably) it will likely not survive on its own, and it's also far easier for them to get picked up by people with more nefarious things in mind (dog fighting, etc.).

I am a cat person anyway, but I have mostly lived in smaller apartments and I don't think it's something a large dog should be forced to deal with. One of the saddest things I have seen was a beautiful pair of huskies being forced to live mainly on a tiny balcony of an apartment building behind me. The only animal it would be humane to keep in the area they had is a reptile or fish.

Wolves the precursors of Dogs and all their glory. Mankind does deserve dogs our ancestors worked to get them to side with us; I will however agree most of us take them for granted and don't deserve them.

It is true you shouldn't get an animal you can't control. I think the main factor however is not control but living space. You shouldn't get a big dog if you live in a flat. A dachshund at most, nothing bigger! Bigger dogs tend to get a wee bit destructive when they go stir crazy in a small enclosed space where they can't properly run around and play. Either that or they become so lazy and fat they basically cut their life expectancy in half. If I ever get a pet I'll probably get a cat, I love both dogs and cats but here's the thing, I live in a flat, don't have that much space for one small dog not to mention multiple ones and if you're working/studying away from home, you better get more than one dog. Leaving a dog alone is torture, they can literally get sick and/or go crazy. Best bet is to get a buddy for your doggo unless there's someone at home permanently. Cats however don't really give a damn as long as they have food and the occasional cuddle and attention.
