It’s funny how some westerners see casualties in the millions and be like yeah legit. Then they see there was 1 million soldiers and 🤔 then say hummmm this seems sus. Like if ancient Chinese records want to embellish wouldn’t they make the casualties tiny too???

It’s because china has too much population in peacetime(cuz it is a place good for agriculture and it was united early on)when war comes, it seem devastating.

Compared to Europe, China was much more populated. Look at the seven years wars, looks very light compared to China, but it was like 10% of Europe dying, and that was light compared to the 7 years war
