Great video, thanks! I personally would think that the R5 II will have the same resolution as the R5 the exception of also being stacked and backside illuminated and the R1 being 60 plus megapixels being also stacked and backside illuminated. I don’t think that they will do what Nikon strategically and smartly did with the Z9 and Z8 making the R1 and R5 II have the same sensor and features but I could be wrong! Lol! 🤔 What I’d really like to see is no low pass filter for sharper images 😁

Thanks for the comment! It sounds like you really know your stuff. I'm looking for better heat management. For all Canon cameras really. And not just a software patch but improved hardware and cooling system. What do you currently shoot now?

@@TMVVisualMedia I shoot the R5 and R7 but would definitely agree with the need for better heat management in video and the other things you mentioned. I mostly do wildlife photography and some portrait photography and would like the proposed specs of the R1 with a full HDMI in an R5 personally but don’t think that will happen. Lol! Also Battery life definitely needs to be improved like the R7 😁

What do you think the release of the R5 Mark II will do to the price of the original R5? I’m wanting to upgrade. Debating going to the EOS R and buying 2 RF lenses, then when the R5 Mk II comes out, buy the R5.

Thanks for the question! Typically the release of a new version of a camera model comes out the new MSRP of the previous model drops about 15 to 20 percent. Where you will see the best value or bang for your buck will be in the used market. I would still only buy from reputable resellers though. Let me know if you have any questions about lenses. I own several RF lenses and a few L series glass. Happy to answer any questions. I have made a few video on some of the lenses I own. Feel free to check them out.

@@TMVVisualMedia I’ve bought some glass from MPB used, that is likely where I’ll buy the R, as well as the R5 eventually. Prefer to keep the glass new.

Very cool. Hopefully, the R5 Mark II gets announced soon. I'm predicting it will be before the end of this year we will start to see leaks and specs.

I love the current R5 however, the record limit would be nice to have removed and I’ve been using the newly acquired fun camera The Canon R50 and its AF sadly feels better than the R5.. lol

Very interesting! Autofocus for me had a huge learning curve. I had to play with the settings and fine-tune the stickiness. I still haven't gotten dialed in on my R6. Thanks for your input! I appreciate the comment.

The r7 just came out, so I don’t understand your logic of discounts meaning replacements are coming.

Thanks for the comment. I don't think there is a replacement for the R7. Although they have rumored a R7C. Alot of these cameras do live side by side on the shelf for a long time. I suppose I mean an upgrade rather than a replacement. I think the only Canon camera that have been truly replaced are the M50 and the RP recently. Although that's not the same camera. The logic is simple. Lower the price of a product to sell more and make shelf space for the newer model. It's a pretty basic strategy thats implemented across several industries. @@TMVVisualMedia I’ve been seeing the rumors of the r5 ii (I follow CanonRumors), but the r7 is a completely different class of Camera body. Personally I don’t think the current discounts are related to any upcoming announcements/releases, just a way to get better market share. Even many RF lenses are on sale as well with no replacements due out

i saw your video complaining r5 files are huge...all Sony, Nikon and Fujifilm owners, face palm :))) d810 files 36 mp are 89 mb, a7iv 33mp are 62-82 mb, Nikon z7 45mp, 100mb each raw
