I like a Switzerland cap in this position. I know that makes Italy tough with the green cap, but it formed a nice central choke and scaled nicely into the Germany bonus

I think you lost when you hit oranges cap, probably would have been better to break bonuses and cap stack.

I think he would have been good if he took one turn to cap stack before going after Orange. Prior to that they basically left each other alone. Pete had great bonus holding caps while Orange didn’t.

Using the 4 stack in Greece to take purples South position ending in a 2 v 1 rather than the 10 in Turkey wasn’t best.

Is it really the Meta Settings with Neutral Bots? Changes it up to a way more fixed variant with the trades increasing slowly.

I'm experimenting with three basic toggles: alliances on/off fog on/off and bots automated/neutral to figure out the best version of Eu adv caps with blizz that works for me rather than doing the thing everyone is doing because it's the thing everyone is doing.

@@FreePete Do what is best for you and your content obviously. With fog, without alliances and with automated bots are the meta settings for a reason though. Switching anything in those settings make it more likely to die early. The meta settings are popularized for the sole purpose of preventing most early deaths. Good players can defend vs most kinds of snowball situations, while they also take full advantage of their own snowballs. I am not looking for the super cautious 2-3hr long take card and pass games, but Speedster for example is very actively looking for cardblocks which is so immensely skillful. But don't tell him I said that! He shall never find out!

Cap rolls should be random between 1.5x - 2x the troops on the cap or something like that on balanced blitz

Except there is no statistical reason that cap rolls should be that high. The attacker should win 41.7% of the time. 1.5x would be the extreme high end. using real dice, an even cap roll would be more common than a 2x cap roll.

@@bozoberg Just had a Balanced Blitz game where it was the worst cap roll I saw, and I was on the winning side. I had 7 on a cap and a 15 rolled against it. They lost 14 and I lost 3. I had calculated that I'd be just about 2x if the opponent had cards and put everything on there to get their cap back. After that, they only had ones on all their territories, they went 3 v 2s and 2 v 1s to get a card, and I mopped them up. Just from a really, really bad cap roll.

@@mcbrideless2064 yeah but whatever it is it should be far more consistent, I have had 100+ caps rolled positive and 100+ caps rolled 2.5x troops, you'd think after such a big sample of rolls it would produce a more consise result and more consistency

@@rick4677 Definitely agree it needs to be more consistent. Whatever they are doing with the Balanced Blitz math is allowing far more outliers than normal balanced blitz.

Before round 4 of a caps game. Do the Caps have defenses of 3 dice ? Or does that activate after round 3?

Good content to post, most mistakes you’ve made in a while. I wonder did orange rolling the neutral bots cap which you saw as incorrect cause an underestimation? Also I think at this stage we need to pivot to rolling caps with a bit more confidence with large stacks and accept the dice are broken. “Lesser” players are getting the upper hand often by risking this.

Kinda glad purple survived that long. Yes he saw where you capped, but equally before you capped you saw he held more territories than you in that region and was highly likely to cap himself up there. My guess he took so long to cap and then take his first turn was because you screwed his game, more than him screwing yours. He tried to fight it but his levels not that high to know how to go about that. He probably didn't have anywhere else that was viable for him to cap.
