John Deere saw a 42% profit increase from 2022 to 2023, yet its decision to shift jobs to Mexico isn't driven by rising operational costs. Instead, it's about maximizing profits while disregarding the workers who built the company. John Deere is synonymous with tractors, a symbol of American ingenuity, progress, and rural life. Farmers, essential to our economy and food supply, embody the pride we take in our self-reliance to feed the nation. By outsourcing jobs, John Deere is betraying its country while clinging to a patriotic image it has long cultivated.

Was it John Deer? Or Deere? I think used to be spelled "John Deer" before we changed timelines. Just like JCPenny. I grew up with JCPenny. Not JCPenney. This is a "Mandela Effect." The thought just came to me, that the problem is not about economics. The problem is that some companies and corporations and entire industries have been co-opted by "Non-Human" evil CEO's and stock holders that are against Humanity. And when Trump talks about having zero tolerance (that's basically what he is saying) he is correct in his approach. Because their actions of trying to circumvent American costs, is nothing less than an affront on the American economy, an outright attack on it, and these bosses and CEO's must be treated as enemies of America. They are effectively trying to sabotage and destroy America. If they cared about America, they would do as Tesla did, and make products entirely in America, entirely with American workers. When Trump is angry and talking about tarrifs, he's really talking about the strange creatures that are trying to sabotage America. If these were good people, trying to do good, Trump would not speak with such contempt. He knows who is good.

A friend of mine was laod off from QMC in Urbandale, IA. About 85-90% of their manufacturing is for Deere parts. Deere among other things wants a cost reduction on parts every 5 years on average. They always want cheaper parts and at least from what I’ve witnessed they will let auakity go if its cheaper and adequate. Deere is no longer top notch-and they will never be if they go with the “good enough” manufacturing attitude. I’ve seen this 1st hand being in manufacturing for almost 11 years of my life. Laser welding is the latest thing that has put a nail in the coffin of manufacturing who don’t keep up with that technology. But it’s been said before-a US company can’t compete with countries where the standard of living is so far below that of the US. To really gain a understanding of how the exonomy of a country can shift balances of power people need to read “Confessions of an Economic Hitman”, that book will open your eyes and scare TF out of you once you understand how the game works.

@@zuzanazuscinova5209 it’s been a four part assault on American labor 1. Free trade agreements work from a “utilitarian” perspective in that overall across the world wages rise, but in America the working class suffers, which is what libertarians miss 2. Payroll and income taxes work effectively as a fine our government imposes on employers who want to hire Americans. They pay no taxes on labor overseas, but if you want to hire an American worker at $100k, you pay 25k in payroll taxes and your employee only takes home 75k. So effectively to hire a 75k worker the employer has to pay 50k in fines annually. None of this affects overseas workers, only if you hire American. 3. Immigrants compete in all levels of the labor market, even “low skilled” immigrants when they lower wages on the bottom rung of the labor force, it forces workers to compete more and more with higher skilled workers, lowering wages for all labor eventually as workers who are not inclined for higher skilled work, have to get degrees and compete for those jobs anyway. 4. Regulations especially environmental, push manufacturing and other jobs overseas where those jobs are done in a completely unregulated environment, causing more pollution and harming the American worker
@kennedymcgovern54132 ай бұрын
I have been having this argument since I first had it with my first econ professor in college. That makes me a 30+ year veteran on this subject. The free market only works when all parties are operating under free trade principles. It is a moot point in international trade, as every country interrupts the free market by means of trade policy. For DECADES...really since Nixon opened them up, the Chinese have been denying us access to their market while enjoying unfettered access to ours. I started calling bullshit on this as a STUDENT I. 1993. It took 23 years from then before we FINALLY got a President who understood this manipulated transfer of wealth from our country to theirs. The counter argument is that our products will go up in price without cheap imports keeping competitive prices down. But this is a short sighted argument, because economies adjust. Wages increase, efficiencies increase and the market is a perfect mechanism for leveling all things out. It makes no difference in the long run. What matters is bringing manufacturing back here. This matters for wealth retention reasons AND for national security reasons. Will China make tanks for us if there is another world war? Do you not understand that we won the last world war entirely because of our manufacturing capabilities?

Tariffs on imports drives up prices creating the profit incentive for domestic production that ultimately drives prices down while building up the domestic economy. @@stampede2012 The Founders- or really, anyone who stops to think about it for like 5 seconds- there is no moral, legal or ethical basis for taxing earnings. Because, by definition, the both the employer and the employee have agreed on a wage at which the work equals the wages. Or else the employee would quit, or the employer would fire. So it is an equal trade of equal value, money for work. Neither party gains. To tax this is outright theft. Tariffs on the other hand are sovereign acts between nations. Unlike individuals, no nation has a "right" either to transact or enjoy the fruits of transactions. Individuals have rights. Not nations. So tariffs are on solid ground economically, morally, ethically and legally. Think it through, the logic is unassailable. The question is why everyone thinks the opposite. That my friend is because we have for 100 years been using corrupt money designed to steal. Money influences everything. Corrupt money eventually corrupts everything. At this point we're leading to the solution, money engineered equally well to transact peer to peer quickly and efficiently without any need for a trusted third party, be a perfect store of value, and do this all for everyone everywhere in the world at near zero cost and with unbeatable security. But this comment is already too long to dive into ₿itcoin.

The fight is not against Mexico, don’t forget that the North American agreement is trying to compete vs china to decide who will be the global leader.
