*Original Star Trek is the most influential filmic sci-fi ever to come along - surpassing everything else - including "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Star Wars" combined. And a large part of the reason is William Shatner himself. He's also the first fictional space voyager to also go into space for real - an incredible accomplishment in itself. And he did it at the age of 90! So clearly, there's a lot of the make-believe Captain James T. Kirk in the real-life William Shatner. Sincerely, a fan of the show since it first premiered on our old B&W Motorola television way back in 1966, when I was 12.*

Mr Shatner, I wish you to live at least 100 years in good health... I wish that you'd bless this planet with your presence for as long as it's possible! You are truly a hero of mine. Not only I love your acting, but your character, your vitality... it's so uplifting to see you talk about almost anything! Also, everyone knows your portrayal of Captain Kirk, but I always leved your guest starring in Columbo. Two great episodes, one even has Walter Koening in it, too! Timeless!

Bill has as yet outlived alot of actors and actresses in Trek. And he still works like some 20 year old and looks so young for his age. Sure he has luck. But more than that he has alotta talent and energy. Good for him. LLAP 🖖

I would like to thank all the Star Trek Captain . The writers and everybody. Because my mom had Alzheimer' This one TV station every night .They start off with the original, generation ,deep space nine, Voyager and then Enterprise And for those hours my mama would sit and watch them like she did when I was a kid. With me and my brother and sister She was really at peace in her mind when she watched them shows.😊

@@ELEKTROSKANSEN I’ve heard a lot of Star Trek fans find voyagers writing to be a bit inconsistent, and feel like the opportunity was somewhat wasted. I’m not sure I’d agree with the wasted opportunity but I agree it’s writing could be a bit variable at times, but on the whole a success.

Another great production! I love watching anything about Shatner, Star Trek and other too. Like Leonard Nimoy's documents is wonderful. I adore Chris Pine as Kirk. They could not have cast it better in my opinion. Also Zachary Quinto as Spock. The rest of the cast too. I LOVE the whole thing. But there will neever be another Kirk like Shatner's Kirk.

If someone had written the material, he could have been such a long-running captain like Picard is. His crew could have done what Picard season 3 did, but in the 90s or early 2000s. He still could have been. Killing him off was pointless when Shatner is still alive. I'm just saying he should have me around this whole time.

Kate’s very clever she has Bills measure because he was interviewing her earlier and asking all the tough questions then afterwards she flipped the script on him. I learnt more about him as a person than I ever imagined possible because of this

A great show, but I think the theme song helped kill it. If they would have went Jerry Goldsmith like the rest of the series did, I'm sure it would have went on much longer

I think it'd be cool for the new legends for 7 of 9 it's captain. They have to go deep space nine and wind up in the mirror world with the original Captain Kirk the dark side and maybe the dark side of Catherine Janeway

I disagree about their view of love. I think that love comes before survival for some. look at a play like Romeo and Juliet, or the idea of a martyr shown throughout history. What is the point of surviving without love? Love and hope pushes us to fight, to keep going. When we lose it, we fall into depression. It is not the will to survive that comes before love, but love that comes before the will to survive.

That JJJerk flash-bang lens flares was NOT Star Trek. It was utter DREK. And that's only continued to be Drek ever since; disCRAPery, lower dorks and PEEcard were garbage. If I want Trek now, I watch "The Orville". If I want Kirk, I watch Shatner, not Pine; there is only one Kirk.
