I bought a BMW Z4 with dealer warranty. Knocking noise in boot, they couldn't fix but gave back the car with oil hand prints all over the cream leather interior and big hand print on boot. I went nuts. Never been to a dealer since. I fixed the problem myself by rotating the rear spring.

I test drove one of these in Walnut Creek CA back in 2004/5 and it was sublime, the driver seat is so comfortable and just hugs and welcomes you, it's very intoxicating in there, the drive was beautiful, fun, and yes that car loves to go and isn't shy about it to say the least. In person one of these is like art work and the body lines you can just stare at and feel like it's going fast just sitting still. Now the one I took out had a blue pulsing start button that after in neutral it pulsed then when pressed pulsed red and stayed red after the engine was running. When I was about to leave the dealership I asked the Rep, Can you see well out your side? He says yes, why? I told him Good because I can't! Lol and then quickly pulled out into traffic before he could react with anything other then grabbing the Oh Shit handle and a Oh Damn verbally. But then I told him I'm just kidding I can see just fine. I'm 6'5" tall and fit in that car with still good headroom. I like to test drive vehicles of all kinds like some guys collect shot glasses. And this was one of the best test rides I did and still stands out as my most memorable from point of view outside and inside feel to the drive itself. Pluses it was cool as this was a Bond car. The only other Bond car I test drove and owned was a 2001 BMW 745iL a real tank beast V10 and in my opinion the last time BMW's had good body style before they turned all Round and electric razor like. Lol, thanks for reading and thanks for this post Wizard! Brought back good clear memories.

"Vanquish" is the name Aston Martin rolls out when it builds a brutally powerful continent-crossing GT for its richest customers. :) The brand new price tag on *any* generation Vanquish is going to be stratospheric. But for the money, Aston Martin gives you a blisteringly fast car that also boasts a gentleman's club interior. The reason you pay a ton of money for a new one, is because no expense is spared when building it, and filling it with toys. Oh, and in the near future, there's a new Vanquish in the making, which apparently is going to be a mid-engined supercar aimed at taking on the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan. According to some "hint hint" press releases from the company, it'll be based upon ideas first trialled in the Valkyrie, but, er, a little less eye-wateringly expensive. Even so, if a new mid-engined Vanquish puts in an appearance in 2022 or 2023, you can expect to blow at least a quarter of a million on one.
@AndrewGruffudd

Seems like everyone's favourite Bond car is the Aston DB5, which is so popular it's almost a cliché, which is probably why it's in every film now, despite having been blown up, spat at, driven into a wall and all those other things. I can't vouch for the Bond Vanquish being the prototype, but I could go on at length about how DB5 prototype DP216/1 became Bond's pimped ride, and what happened to it subsequently.

I have a friend who was asked by one of his customers to fit a reversing camera to one. It came brand new from the dealers to his workshop, When he was removing the rear bumper he was horrified to find that it was put together using double sided tape. ( it was incredibly strong ) When he contacted Aston Martin for some replacement tape, he got a snotty e-mail back saying we do not use tape on our cars. As luck would have it he had a friend who worked on the production line and sent him some in the post. British engineering at its best.

that's a really nice car even with quite so many visible Ford parts, used to have some years ago a '02 Jag and it was the same thing with lots of Ford in it, not what you wanna see from such a car. Just a piece of advice from the customer point of view, please do use steering wheel, seat and mat cover while you work on the cars, especially on such a beautiful examples, oil stains will not come out and i would be really pissed to come pick up my pride and joy and discover stains inside the car from greasy hands or dirty shoes, it's better to prevent such accidents and keep the customers happy :)

Looks like it's got the Linn HiFi system fitted. You'll see a big PA in the boot / trunk. There's stories that goes around the electronics industry in Scotland (where Linn are) that they got the Aston Contract, but then started swapping automotive rated parts for standard ones and then got a lot of failures of their HiFi equipment. Someone in Linn purchasing didn't know the difference between the parts and bought the cheaper ones. Or, at least, that's the story I've heard within the Scottish electronics industry.
